hi if ever the dependent child is 21 years old and already graduated college when her mother submitted the application is she required to study again to be consider as a dependent?


and if in case she needs to enroll, would it be ok if she will take a masters degree rather taking another course?

The age of the dependent child is 'locked in' when the application is received, so you are OK. You have to be under 22 when the application is received, or be a full-time student since before the age of 22. Even though you will be older than 22 by the time the application is finalized, that doesn't matter. You don't have to continue to study, but you cannot get married or live common law with anyone until the PR visa is issued and you have landed.

thank you for the reply but i just want to clarify on what u said..what do you mean by to be a full time student since before 22.what if she already graduated when she is 20 years old?

If the dependent child is 22 or over when the application is received, then even if they have graduated, they must continue studying from before turning 22 until the PR is granted. But if the dependent child is under 22 when the application is received, that age is 'locked in', and they do not have to keep studying. They can't get married or live common law, though.

hi! we have the same situation! so, we don't need to study anymore because we're under 22 when the application was received but can we work and have our own job? will it affect our eligibility as dependent child? please answer
