Hello Guys,

I was cross checking this useful forum
But I didn’t find more information about 2024 Asylum claimants…
And most of them they got hearing and approved.
Its looks like i am the only one waiting for hearing since more than 1.5 years…
Can you guys share your timeline so at least will have an idea whats going on…

Hope that's gonna be helpful:

May 15 2024 - Submit In-land claim
Aug 23 2024 - IRCC Etobicoke Interview, brown paper, work permit, referred to IRB

So far, no update, no further file/notice from IRB.
We are just all victims of a corrupted system.

Applied March 2024
IRB Referral May 2024
Less Complex Letter April 2025
Moved to Regular Hearing May 2025

Upon communication with the IRB, the problem is in my FESS and they cannot do anything till they get it from CBSA and IRCC

Sent a couple of ATIP for the notes from the CBSA and CSIS on January 2025 and August 2025, and never heard back from them till now

We have a very similar IRB timeline, hopefully we will hear something soon

I applied for asylum at the end of 2024 and received a less complex case. I submitted my evidence in August 2025, and about a month later, I received another letter stating that the IRB is no longer considering my case as less complex and that I must attend a regular hearing. Since then, there have been no updates. My lawyer says that many people with similar cases are receiving decisions without a hearing, and that the IRB can make a decision on a case-by-case basis without holding a hearing. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Thanks.
