Hey guys I contacted a bunch of immigration lawyers regarding mandamus today. Most of them said I should file instead of waiting and doing nothing but I am not sure if they're looking at the money aspect of it or genuinely want a positive outcome for us! They say it may take up to 7-8 months to a year to complete and most cases get a response before even getting to the main court. I am so confused whether to apply for this or not. I've waited 35 months but also what harm would a bit more waiting do? I don't know this is genuinely a horrible situation to be in. Give me all your feedback!!

35 months is still not too long! Mine took 39, others in this forum over 41, 42 months. I suggest to wait until after the new year and then you can start filing the Mandamus. 6k is so expensive though. The rate is 3-4k with a trustable lawyer

Same here i just got update that my background check in progress again as it was showing not applicable last week. That’s means they also doing security check for me

When you called IRCC automated phone service does the system read this line “ we don’t need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes “ or completely disappeared?

They randomly select some people for a comprehensive security check. This is ridiculous and rigged. You didn't deserve this man!!!

Same here i just got update that my background check in progress again as it was showing not applicable last week. That’s means they also doing security check for me
