Hello everyone,

Has anyone who became a Canadian permanent resident through the 2023 cohort returned their Refugee Travel Document (RTD) to IRCC and successfully received their original passport back?

If so, could you please share the steps you followed to retrieve your original passport and how long the process took?

You are to never do that. Only request for your passport back after you become a citizen. Becoming a Pr doesn’t make you not a refugee and if you try to travel with your country passport you’ll lose your Pr and refugee status

Kuwait doesn't provide police clearance certificate if they don't have fingerprints of the person who requested for PCC.
What should I do now? We were not able to submit it?

Did you get any news after that? Honestly, I'm scared that they might have flagged us for deeper security screenings, which I heard take around 12 to 64 months! I'm so fed up with waiting

So, first I sent the form and additional docs via webform, but after 40 days it was still showing as "your action is required". Once I upload the form on the portal, it shows as submitted and IRCC confirmed that they have received it when I called them. I really wish that ot won’t cause deeper amd additional security screening as we have suffered enough already

Who issues this card? If you not served in military then you should have simply sent sent them a letter of explanation , isn’t it ?

So the country that I’m coming from and lived for over 11 years, there is no military service required. However, country where ai was born, military service is mandatory but I was exempt due to my family situation and I have a card for that which I sent them the translation

I just had ghost update 3 days ago and I just called IRCC they said I passed everything and now I should wait for final decision.. hopefully not too long

There hasn’t been any update. It’s even been over two months since I submitted my ATIP request, and I still haven’t received a response to that either. I honestly don’t know what else to do at this point.

Tell them when you requested and your application number. Tell them it’s more than two months and u did not receive it.

Hi , I just called the IRCC and asked for an update as well . I applied in May for my ATIP request and never received any response, so I reapplied and have yet to receive any response. I’m from August 2023 and the agents said the officer opened my file on June and that my Security has not started as yet . It’s so disappointing

Im august 18th 2023 applicant.
I got my P1 request yesterday. Will keep you posted on my P2 date.
We’re closer to the final step. Don’t lose hope. I’m praying for all 2023 applicants.
