I am stuck in the Comprehensive Background Check. Do you have any advice for me? I applied 42 months ago and have contacted more than one Member of Parliament, but to no avail. I am in Ontario. If anyone has a solution, please let me know

Did you moved from Quebec? when did you apply? when did your A34 start? did you travel after you became a refugee?

Hello everyone, it will be three years since I applied for PR. I request ATIP before Jan 2026 an received it before new year, is it useful to request one more time ? Can it cause any delay on my file ? I wanted to see if the background check is started, on my portal it looks like they didn’t start background check.

Call IRCC Agent to confirm your background current status.

A34 screening usually takes one to two years from the start of the screening process. You may consider applying for mandamus if it has taken more than two years. Other than that, there is not much you can do, especially after moving from Quebec. Let us hope that the one-time initiative will help increase the processing speed.

“I am a protected person PR applicant. My security screening started on March 26, 2026. I have a high travel history but only short stays in different countries. How long does this stage usually take? Also, based on this kind of travel history, is it typically standard or comprehensive screening?”
