“Not Started” does NOT automatically mean another year", after 2 days received eligibility passed, security has actually started but GCMS hasn’t updated.
The security screening process for the asylum application was completed within two months of the application. So, unless there are very special circumstances, it's a process that can be completed within two months. The problem here is that they are slow due to quotas and processing times.

security screening is the longest stage, if you have extensive travel history or you lived in multiple countries or you have dependents outside Canada or even your country of origin has complex verification processes.
