Applied on Jan 30, 2023
pre-arrival letter on July 25, 2025
Got eligibility letter on Aug 1, 2025
Then nothing after that, I am in Alberta, and contacted my MP, he updated me that it will take 49 months, unbelievable! Nobody knows what's going on.
I extended my work permit, and only got extend for a year, so will expire in 2026.
I applied ATIP in July, and still haven't heard back.. It's been 5 months...

plus I still can't link my application even with an application number starts with a G..
I called IRCC this summer and they say they'll fix it, but still nothing.

This is the reply I got from July 2025, then the MP office ghosted me after I asked why it takes 49 months in Alberta
"
Your application is open and in progress. There are no further documents required or requested at this time, and IRCC did point out that you currently have a valid work permit, giving you the ability to keep working.
It was also mentioned that the processing time for this is 49 months, which would be February of 2027."

The long wait and lack of updates are clearly stressing many applicants, especially when calls and webforms don’t give clear answers. Even though timelines like 50 months sound scary, they don’t always mean the process will actually take that long, and some cases move faster after long periods of silence. In the meantime, staying informed and finding small ways to manage stress like keeping busy or following updates on apps such as app Cinema atualizado that can help while waiting.
