I highly recommend speaking with multiple lawyers about this...processing time is now like what 14 months...yours has gone significantly beyond that time and yet not sure if there would be a chance of getting an answer by their so called dashboard that fluctuates from 1 month to 2 months or even more.. their numbers in the processing dashboards make no sense which is in the same argument of lack of transparency...there is no fifo system.. number of ppl in front of you make no sense vs what timeline you have and number of applications being processes.. I have taken snapshots of past months to collect evidence of this broken system...think about your pr delay your residency delay.. your life on pause...literally messed up as is...I'm in burnout mode right now with severe depression cuz of this messActually, I already spoke with a lawyer because I have been waiting for 41 months. There is nothing concerning in my background, except that I come from a country that may be considered high-risk.
The lawyer told me that a demand letter would likely be useless at this stage. He said that, in the best-case scenario, mandamus could take around 5–12 months, and it could take more than a year if the court asks for a hearing, which is rarely required. He also told me there is no guarantee that we would win the case.
Because of that, I decided to wait for now, since hopefully we should receive a decision much sooner and save my money.
