But it's true they move faster with less complex file, like one spouse, children with one partner.
If have you many children, not with same partner, needs more documents, form to fill, permission of the other parent. That things make longer your processing time, back and forth, asking for documents, waiting for your reply, then you waiting for their reply.

Security run fast when they decide to do it. One,two weeks.
I understand what you’re saying, but I actually have a very less complex case — one dependent, single, no additional children or family, and I haven’t lived in or visited any other countries. Nothing complicated at all. Yet I still haven’t received any updates. And when I called last week, the agent confirmed that my security hasn’t even started yet, which makes the delay even more confusing, but you all make me have hope that soon my file will get an update :) My fingers and toes are crossed . I can’t wait to update everyone .

I applied for PR in August 2023, and my eligibility was completed in January 2024.

Today, I received an email from IRCC asking me to confirm my information for the PR Portal. About two hours later, I received another email requesting my photo and address upload.

Note: (Outside Canada )2026 May 20 My spouse and daughter were previously asked to complete biometrics and medical examinations.

To everyone who is still waiting: don’t lose hope. Your turn will come. Wishing the best of luck to everyone still in the process, and thank you to everyone who shared information and support along the way.
What date in august? Congrats!
