Is anyone eligible(dependent) for this after getting the pr for the main applicant ? Or there is some circumstances or conditions for this program?

Agree that IRCC certainly made things worse. Not sure we can really blame them for Roxham road and global instability. Many of you may not have had the opportunity to claim asylum if IRCC had tightened policies so a bit hypocritical to criticize. How exactly is Canada providing you a safe place to live, work and study and a pathway to PR and citizenship punishing people?
If you are in Canada because you fear for your safety why are you considering leaving? There re many people who are temporary residents who work and/or study for years before the qualify for PR so not sure how the timelines are different and there is no guarateed pathway to PR for them and none of the support.
You clearly don’t have knowledge of other immigration programs because wouldn’t call processing for most PR programs fast these days. Almost all categories have much longer processing times than they did a few years ago. Also typically takes much longer to get selected to apply for PR so process is not fast. If there is one targeted group being blamed for things like pressure on housing it is international students and not asylum seekers, refugees and protected people who are all different. If anything the cost of the asylum claim system and refugee support system is underreported because most Canadians would lose their mind if they were aware of the actual cost to taxpayers.
Who are you to decide who should or shouldn’t be allowed to apply for asylum? Are you the Minister of Immigration, the Prime Minister, or the leader of the Conservative Party? Asylum is not a privilege granted at the discretion of any one government or individual—it is a right protected under international law. Canada, like every other country that has signed the Refugee Convention, has an obligation to provide protection to those fleeing persecution, war, and danger.
Blaming asylum seekers for “making things worse” is a misguided argument. Global instability, war, and other crises force people to flee their homes—this is not their fault. Suggesting that IRCC should have implemented even harsher policies ignores the reality that many people now safe in Canada would have been left to suffer. Does that really sound like a system to be proud of?
I have no interest in debating with someone who has never been in our position. If you have useful information to contribute, it would be appreciated. However, please don’t act like an IRCC lawyer—they already have a legal team and spokesperson to defend their policies.
I think they would have to send you the letter once they receive your application to process it under the pilot project and then your dependent would be granted pr once you get yours

Are you seriously saying that? For your information, here are the IRCC processing times for permanent residency across several categories:
• Express Entry: FSWP and CEC take approximately 5 months.
• Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): Express Entry PNP takes 7 months.
• Quebec Skilled Workers: 9 months.
If you have any additional information, feel free to share. Or are you just here throwing words and acting like an IRCC spokesperson? By the way, can you share your timeline please? Or you’re a citizen by default!

I received eligibility and pre arrival letters August-Sept 2024.
This person will never share their timeline. I have asked multiple times because all he/she does is criticize, discourage and insult others for even asking questions. I just don’t understand whats wrong with this person.
