Noticed on portal that the day I gave my fingerprints, BG was added as completed to portal activity and then reverted back to in progress pretty much immediately after. So its still in progress, but something happened. This is probably the "ghost update".
That was kind of what happened to me. I thought it was a ghost update, but the GCMS notes revealed a bunch of stuff and it was not just a simple ghost update, it was someone finally fixing their own mess.
New updates, oath is scheduled for February 26. Good luck everyone

Guys I'm losing hope, I really need this sorted before July and I cannot afford to spend thousands on a mandamus.

Did you submit ATIP to get GCMS notes from IRCC and CSIS? May be those will tell you a little about what's going on.
Same for me....Nov 2023 application and Dec 2023 AOR. Last update on portal was a ghost update in April 2025, nothing since then. Already submitted fingerprints twice during this whole process. Contacted MP office last year and they just received the same response from IRCC, so overall it didn't have any impact. I am already tired of multiple calls, webforms and ATIP requests to IRCC so its just a waiting game now, hoping someday this will eventually get completed.
My background turn complete but I have not get second fingerprint yet. I know it’s coming but not yet may be in a day or so but overnight it now showing background complete Nov 08 AOR
Nothing useful in the IRCC notes at all, i did not know i can get notes from CSIS, can you tell me how to do that ?
I hear you. I applied 36 days earlier than you, with AOR November 1, 2023. My background and prohibition were finally completed on January 29, 2026 and I am scheduled for oath on February 26.
Based on what I have seen, I think you will get some updates soon. I think later February or sometimes in March. I would recommend to be patient until April. If nothing happen by then, it worth starting exploring mandamus.
I was exactly in your situation a month ago, and I know how frustrating is this process, but it seems SS applications are processed in 29 -30 months. Good luck

click proceed to ATIP online, follow through a couple of questions and check boxes, then choose Canadian Security Intelligence Service in the list of agencies.
Is there any reasons why you think you need to give fingerprints? Somehow I never got any requests, but I also know my situation is really bizarre
