I am in same situation, medical will expire end of next month, I called CIC the lady told me it is a high chance that officer will extend it, so better just wait.

Spoke with CIC couple of weeks ago and medicals expire after 12 from pass date not when U done them. I would wait until they tell u to redo them!

I moved to canada after 6 months from sending my application,got my work permit and i changed my address, does my file still considered outland and will be sent to another office or they will treat it in sydney because im already in canada for.more than 6 months . Pnp paper based .Aor april 2018

My medical was not upfront medical. They asked for medical. Thanks for reply. I think that I will wait Hopefully they can extend it. When 2018 will start?
They are stuck at 2017. Almost 2020 is near.
