Yeah I know, CIC recommends to request change of status to tourist at least a month before the work permit expires.
However, as soon as I file an application to change my status and they tell me the application has been received before my work permit expires, I've heard they cannot kick me out until a final decision has been made (in regards to the change of status for me).

Reason why I'm waiting just a bit is because it costs 100 dollars just to change status (ridiculous how money hungry they are).
So if nothing changed in about a week, I'll file the application and see what happens.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting rejected for the change, since you are from non-visa country and have a PR in process, just don't be tempted to reveal how you really feel in the application

Hi April2015 Spousal team! Just an update...
I am still waiting. We have heard nothing from the Visa Office - I have no idea if they have even received my husband's application. A little frustrating. I read the CIC site and it states that you will receive a communication from the Visa Office. I don't think it is professional that some VO send AOR2 and others do not.


I am praying that the visa office will at some point acknowledge receiving our application between now and then - because how long does it take to say - "we have your application"?? Maybe I am simplifying the process. Additionally, in the middle of July I sent in a change of address and still my old address is showing. And again just the automated email saying we got your change of address. I hate waiting but it is even worse when there is no acknowledgement at all.

What are my taxes paying for?

On another note, my husband is here on a visitors visa. He is hear until Christmas, so at least we can be together for a while.

E-cas status has just been updated from "application received" to "in-process"!

Hopefully I'll have an answer for permanent residence before my Work Holiday VISA expires the 14th of September 2015.
I was therefore wondering if anybody has any idea how long it usually takes from "in-process" to "decision made" and following to "visa issued".

Happy for your in process status. I have seen in an another french forum that 2 persons got visa issued directly from in-process status. In average, "in-process" to "decision made" or "visa issued" should take 2 to 3 weeks.
Hope that we will get our answers soon from Paris

Same here. All quiet since SA came through and eCAS still just shows "Application Rec'd". My timeline is about a week behind yours by the looks of it.

the status changed from " received" to "in process", just wondering if there is away to know when did they change the status? also when i click on "in process" the next page show only one line saying: " We received x.x.x application for permanent residence on April x, 2015.".... that all, is that normal shouldn't have more details like when they start to process the application ??

I saw somewhere on another post that for the same page you are referencing (after clicking on "in process" under Permanent Residence, the person had:

1. We received <name> application for permanent residence on <date>.
2. Medical results have been received (they were likely done upfront)
3. We started processing <name> application on <date>.

I think it's this last step (3.) that really indicates whether your application is in process or not...but I'm trying to find out lately if others have seen the same step.

They don't even have a posted processing time for our VO anymore....I'm not sure what to do...

I just looked and here is what is says....

•(–) indicates that not enough data are available. Processing times are shown only where an office has finalized 10 or more cases in the past 12 months.

So it looks like there is just not enough information to give a date. I would call or contact the visa office. They say if it has been longer than the time indicated. Your VO says nothing....

Starting to pull my hair out waiting. How could they do this to us. They've only finalized 10 applications this year??? They're responsible for 2 countries, shouldnt they be working overtime???

My MP cant even really do anything except for inquire about my case .

Checking to see if anyone has any thoughts on timing we can expect.

Spouse and I filed simultaneous Sponsorship and PR applications from the US, received in Ottawa on April 27.
Spouse was approved as Sponsor on June 22 and notified that my PR application has been forwarded to CPC-Ottawa.
Spouse moved from US to Canada on June 30. (I arrived July 20 but am still technically a "visitor" legally residing in the US.)
My PR application still shows application and medical results received on April 27, with no change for the last couple of months.

I see some people from March are now getting PR applications approved. Can we expect some movement soon, or is the "processing time" of 15 months listed on CIC website accurate?

Ottawa applicants are processed in 8-10 months.

My hubby is here as a visitor as well from the US they have given him a 6 month visa so we are good until February - that being said we are hoping that we will hear something soon. He has been living in the US since January 2014 but cic sent his application to Trinidad - where he lived before the US.

We have heard nothing from the VO in Trinidad.

Just be patient. I know it is hard but at least you are both together. There are a lot of people on the forum that have been without their spouse for months and even years. Small blessing we can be together.

Heys guys I need some help...my husband’s application is “in process” now, I just saw that there was a change on his status it became application received... to we started processing your application on May 20, 2015 but it does not say medical results have been received first... I am concerned...Is this normal?
