I also did the flag polling today. Was very hassals free experience. We crossed the border into US(my parents already have visitors visa for US) and returned back to Canada.

As usual canada side was very curteous and sent us in the office. Just same basic questions and we were done in less than 10mins.

We were also told that the waiting time for PR is 6months now.

Also note that there is no dependent in my case. It was just my parents and they were in Canada on Super Visa.

Also it took two weeks to get the passports back with visa.

Goodluck everyone.

Hi laijia,

Congrats on your PPR.

Do you mind share some more info with me because I had the same visa office (HK), but I still haven't received any response yet since the medical check on Oct 15, 2015?

When did you have the online update on CIC website for medical received? ----They don't update any information on line about this.
Did you get the PPR through email?---yes
Have your CIC online status changed? If so, when?---a couple days after I received email, the on line status changed to decision made.

Thanks for your help.

Please check out my answers above. You can write to HK office to follow up. They will let you know the status of the case. I think your case shall be processed soon. Good luck!

Did they say 6 months to get PR card

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share that my family and I have landed as a permanent resident in Canada finally. My parents and one dependent who were in Pakistan landed last week at Pearson 2nd march 2016, I went to Rainbow Bridge last Saturday 5th March 2016 to do my landing process. First my Parents said they had no issues what so ever but it took them about 2 hours after their flight landed to go through all the process, this includes immigration officer, customs (declaring goods & money), got their sin cards at the airport. The whole process wasn't lengthy but it was all smooth and they had no issues, they said everyone was welcoming.

For me I went to Rainbow bridge as I had to wait until principal applicant (my dad) had landed to do my landing process, I drove early morning on Saturday and crossed the rainbow bridge (drove) the US people told me to park the car and officer will escort you back to Canada they gave me refusal letter (even though I told them I have Valid USA visa) anyways that process wasn't bad as I expected then I just drove back to Canada side.
There was a bit of lineup as it was Saturday and there were quite few people doing there landing process or some coming from states. It took me about 1 hour at the border and the officer called me told me to sign the COPR and also when I will receive my PR card in 3-4 weeks. That's it I got my new Sin Card & updated my Health card following business day... So that's about it, I'm really pleased to be part of this forum as it has helped me throughout the whole immigration process, I will try to check it once a week if I can help fellow forum peeps or you can shoot me message I would try to help as much as i can. And I wish Best of luck to everyone who are in their process and just wait your time will come! Thank you

That's what the girl at the office said. But I checked the cic website and it says the processing time for PR card is 45days.

I will update after receiving the PR card.

Hi laijia,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Do you have HK office's email address that I can email to? Have you emailed them before?

Also, I don't know why on Ecase status for my sponsorship section still showing "in process" although I received the sponsorship approval by email back in Sep/2015. Did you have similar situation too?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I finally got an email from CIC.
They need to do a reassessment of my eligibility as a sponsor.
They want financial details for the first year since October 2013 (it's the date when my spouse became PR).
They also mentioned that I could include a co-signer if I want.

I have a question regarding this:
Although I believe that my income is sufficient to cover my parents, 2 dependents and my spouse, I want to be on safe side and include my spouse as a co-signer.
Can she be a co-signer although she was sponsored by me? She became PR in October 2013 and is working full-time.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I am filling imm1283e on request from CIC
I have one question
our income includes some maternity benefits. Do we need to attach separate document for to prove that or they can find out from NOA option c printout?

Option C won't show if its maternity benefit or regular EI benefit for job loss. Maternity can be counted towards income calculation while the other is not so I guess you need to obtain the maternity EI papers from Service Canada.
