Hi all,

I just wanted to post a new update on my file. I just got the sponsorship approval today and my file is being transferred to Lima (the Embassy that deals with my country's paperwork). I received the letter by email. I hope my mom gets the med's request soon!! My timeline is below:

Hi, I'm really concerned regarding my aplication, applied in June 2010, sent additional documents in Sep 30/2014, received AOR on Dec 11/2014 dated Dec 8/2014, since than nothing, please advice, your help would be much appreciated, please let me know if anyone has similar case, thx

When you receive an AOR , how long after that you are expected to hear from CIC regarding Sponsorship Approval.? Some CIC agents say its 6 month from AOR Date and Some say 6 Months from Complete Document Received. ? Is there any specific guideline on this because both statements come from CIC agents. ?
Also after AOR , Does online Status change to "In Process" or does it remain same " Application Received" as in My Case. ?

My additional docs were received on Sept 16, 2014 and still waiting for sponsorship approval. I don't get what is the criteria to process the application as it is not based on the date documents submitted after July 31, 2014

A friend of mine sent his additional documents on Nov 10, 2014, got his Sponsorship approval on Feb 12 and Passport request on Feb 27. His parents sent the medicals with additional documents on Nov 10, 2014. No dependants

I think your friend must have applied earlier.

CIC says that it all depends from File to File and the Visa officer reviewing the File. so some people get it through quickly as oppose to others. and once the file is in review by the officer , there is no time limit set for the officer to complete the review of the file.
Its all a matter of Luck.

His July 31, 2014 letter was sent to old address and he requested extension to submit the documents. Regarding medicals, one can submit the medicals for family sponsorship application with the application or anytime afterwards. Of course they take the risk of re-doing medicals if they expired and visa is not issued.

How could they send medicals with additional documents in Nov 2014. Your friend could not be responding to the July 2014 letter. There was no mention of sending medicals in that letter, otherwise everybody would have sent medicals.

To be honest, CIC agents don't know anything. You will get new answer every time you call them.

I am going to submit a ATIP request to find out the processing criteria for the post July 2014 applications. In my case, i have only parents and no dependant. My parents are in Canada on Super Visa and their medicals are valid until June 2015 so no need medicals if they can process the application before June 2015
