Hi Everyone,

Question about Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form:

I have applied for parents sponsor application in 2010 and i am preparing documents now. My question is whom do I need to fill the Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form for? I have parents (mother/father) and myself (Sponsor - i am in Canada) and Sister (who is in US and she is married not accompanying).

My understanding is I need to fill out the form for parents (father and mother) only. but how about my self as sponsor and my sister - do i need to fill out separate form for this including sign from individual?

Thanks for replaying - so you mean I need to fill out (IMM 5669) form for My Father who is principle applicant only - correct?

why i am confused because CIC website guide says:

IMM 5669 and 5406 should be filled by:

This form must be completed by:

1. You, as the principal applicant,
2. Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
3. Your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).

could you please explain about both? thanks once again.

No. it has to be filled by primary applicant and any dependent who is accompanying. i.e, if your father is primary and your mother is coming, then you have to fill for your mom and dad.

Thank you so much for clarifying. Appreciated.

I didn't send the PC or Landing fee. Just the documents requested in the checklist

In your documents sent on 15 Sept were you able to obtain police certificates for your parents and include those as well.

I would also send the Option C print out for husband. All the best!!

Thanks Soonihope, for the reply. I bit consfused with your answer, asking once again:) I wanted to say that I am the sponsor and my husband is co- signer, my option c prinit out does not show any income becoz I did notmwork all these years. But my husband has a really good job, so itmwont be a problem if sponsor has no income herself but husband has income and that income is well enough to supportmthe famly and the sponsored person?
Also once CIC - mississuaga recieved the requested documents how long does it take till they send us the letter letting us know if or not we meet the sponsorship requirements ?
Thankss alottt

Thanks Kevin and all the best!!

Initially I thought the normal procedure was to send the file to the local visa office, Kiev in our case. I believe there has been a change in policy, to centalize a lot of the processing in Ottawa. Maybe they are just taking the processing load from some of the embassies, or maybe all - I can't say. They did say that the file might be sent to Kiev later, presumably if some things needed to be verified locally.

My mother in law is not in Canada now. I am sure the decision to send the file to Ottawa had nothing to do with her being in Canada or not.

Hi mehuls

Do u have any sibling? If yes and over aged 18, u must fill up the form 5669 and 5406 for them coz in doc checklist said that whether accompanying you to canada or not. Correct me if Im wrong.

Only if they are dependants ,accompanying or not.

What I understood from reply is that even if you have sibling but if they are not dependent then you don't need to fill IMM 5669 and IMM 5406 - Can any one please confirm?

I saw a note today on the CIC site that processing was started on September 10. There is also a note that medical results have been received.

Can anyone tell me what this means in terms of when we might have the PRV in hand? I have heard of times that range from a few months to a few years. I would be nice to have a better idea of the time frame.

I can answer my own question now. Processing started September 10, 2014. Received an email today (Sept. 25) saying processing is completed and to send passport to the embassy to have a visa inserted. The email said it would be a maximum of 5 days to have the visa put in the passport.

After a long wait, everything is happening fast now. My mother in law could be landed within a month.

Hi,
In 2010 I filled Parents sponsorship application along with dependent sister(aged 21 in 2010)

Now in 2014-July, they sent me checklist to send Fee + form/document including
General application form (IMM 0008),
ScheduleA for all
etc.

My sister by this time turned into 26years, also got married with kids. Is she still be considered as dependent on my parent and should I send Fee + ScheduleA document for her as well. Should I add her as dependent in IMM 0008

Kindly advise ASAP, much appreciable.
