It may be worth contacting CIC helpdesk and explaining that you submitted documents on 8 August and have not received AOR. Most people from what I have been able to calculate have been receiving AOR in 11-12 weeks.
No harm in making a phone to make enquiry as you have already waited 17 weeks for reply and AOR.

We received the AOR for my parents application ! ( we got a snail mail at my brothers's add who is sponsoring them at Canada confirming that their application is complete ! Is that the AOR ?)

Additional doc: July 2014
Doc Submitted : Aug 2014
mail confirmation: Nov 2014

hi ! Just wanted to know what will the next procedure be? After this mail should we be expecting MR for them soon??? How long will the total process be till PPR? ( 4-5 months??)

Next stage is sponsor approval which can be 2-3 months and then transfer to LVO. That stage will involve medical and passport request but very hard to place a time frame on how long it takes, it can depend on the current number of applications at the visa office.
Which date in August 2014 were your documents submitted to CIC.

We submitted our application around 24 August!

The documents that you have submitted will be checked to ensure that the sponsor meets the financial requirements to be able to sponsor the family members i.e parents and any dependants. If they do then sponsor is approved and file is transfered to the visa office who will then request medicals from parents and following this passpost for issue of visa.

Yes, the letter that your brother received is known as AOR, Acknowledgement Of Receipt.

i send the police certificate to otawa 2 nov and thats the last documents i have to send all is accepted and now i wait for the passeport request for my mother.

When did you get your letter from cic for documents. Most people had letter dated 30 July 2014 to send documents. you said you sent police certificates to Ottawa. Was your file transferred there and when did you apply.

At last, i received my AOR for the additional docs sent on Sept 12, 2014. The letter says it's complete and now on queue for processing.

Don't worry you will be hearing from CIC soon. only yesterday jeleni who sent documents on 12 sept received AOR. In next two week you will also receive your AOR. I think cic are working through the applications as they recieved them according to date they were sent.They mentioned in their letter in July they will deal with applications in the order received.

do you have confirmation from canada post your xpresspost package was delivered. if so then no need to worry. you can track your mail on canada post website and check to see delivery status.

I received a letter yesterday indicating they are processing my app. I sent it in September after receiving the July 30th request.

Check with the courier and make sure it was signed for.
