1) They ask for "recent" letters of work reference , but how much time is that ?

2) If one is reapplying for F.S.W. for second time , do all persons in application have to state that they applied before or only the principal applicant ?

Thanks

1. Should not be more then 1 - 3 months old while submitting complete file to local visa office.
2. Only the principal applicant as earlier also he/she was the applicant and second time also he/she will be the applicant

But Rocky if I worked for a company before 5 yers or more and by that time I got a reference letter from this company. should I get onther one when I apply to CHC? why??

yes you should, that is evidence that your doc are true , this well make your case faster

I use to work in a comapny in india in 2007 ... I left that after 8 months.. and they did gave me a acceptance of resignation at that time.

So, now I need to contact them again to give me the same info again ?

But why??
The experience certifications are the same of education certifications which have no expiry date. They show that you had worked in this company or that regardless the issuance date.
What if I worked in another countries before 8 years?
What if the company which I worked with, has been closed?
If the company issused me a referance letter before 7 years, printed on their letterhead and included all the required information, why should I ask them again to give me another one???
I don't think the referance letters have an expiry date, it is given to the employee to use it forever and wherever and whenever.
I agree The recent reference letter should be from the recent/current employer only or from the past employers if the applicant have not gotten one from them when he/she left the job in the past.

Hi,

I too agree that Reference letter issued by previous employer (years before) is sufficient as proof of employment. I worked for 12 plus years with my previous employer and resigned during 2008. I submitted reference letters issued be 2 senior executives, appointment letter, promotion letter, appreciation letters, salary slips, IT Returns, Service Letter etc etc as proof of my job. If I need a current dated reference letter from my previous employer it is not at all possible.

So in my opinion, there is no need for a current dated reference letter for previous employment if any.

I fully agree with Staroffuture and satish_lkb.
Anyone had the experience?
Please advise.
Thanks,
