Examples of Instruction Guide for 2 pieces of personal identification to be included with the citizenship application:
1. Canadian Drivers License
2. Canadian Health Insurance Card
3. Copy of biographical page of your passport/travel document etc.

Not acceptable - SIN Card, Bank Card, Credit Cards.

Is Ontario Photo Card an acceptable ID? What are the other acceptable pieces of IDs?

Any thoughts?

If you mean Ontario Photo card as in a non-driver licence photo ID, then yes it is acceptable as it is issued by Ontario Service, the same that issue Ontario driver licence and OHIP ID card (not the red and white OHIP card).

Yes, I meant Non-Drivers license photo Id, issued by Ontario. Ok; thanks screech339.

Any other acceptable IDs?

Pretty much any photo ID that has been issued by provincial / federal government since they can be verified electronically.

what about security guard license card ? is it acceptable?

I have my doubt. Don't think you can use it. Like it said before, unless it is issued by government authorities, it won't be accepted.

Then it should be okay to use. As long as it has a magnetic strip / some kind of code written on it for validation purposes, it should be fine.

how about PR card?

Yes you can use PR card. It's issued by government of Canada and had a scan bar code on back.

List thus far:

1. Canadian Drivers License
2. Canadian Health Insurance Card
3. Copy of biographical page of your passport/travel document etc
4. PR Card
5. Ontario Photo ID (non-drivers license ID by Ontario provincial service)
6. security guard license

Any other government (provincial/federal) issued ids that one can list?

What is number 2? Is that the provincial health card? For Example here in NS, we have MSI card. Is this what it is?

I am not sure what MSI card is; but in Ontario, it's OHIP card -- basically the card used for receiving provincial health care.

Yes, MSI card is the provicial health card for NS.

What about children; what options do they have? One needs to be photo I'd there as well?

Province card & drivers license is ruled out.

Can PR card & passport be used? I ask because these are requested as part of the application as part of other Qs - can the be duplicated for I'd proofs as well?
