Got my 1st PER yesterday and I need to know what comes next & next and the probable timeline.

Rest, a small concern that is bothering me now.
Actually I didn't submit PCC along with application and this fact has been haunting me since beginning....timeline.!!

Since I require PCC from 3 countries and I am afraid that the submission time given by my VO to submit PCC and medicals might not be enough. E.g. VO asks me to submit all remaining doc. say with in 30-35 days and if PCC takes more than 1 month, I miss the submission deadline.

So leaving Medicals aside, I need advice me that since PCC is valid for 3 months:-
- When shall I better apply for PCC IN ADVANCE, before VO requests me so that as soon as VO asks, Ive them HANDY?
In short, when is the right time to apply for PCC IN ADVANCE? Say after 2-3 weeks from now or as soon as I get 2nd AOR?
- How much time VO generally gives to submit PCC & Medicals? Shall I do it now and just send them to CIO or VO, kind of submission in advance?........confused!!
- Other than PCC and medicals, is there any other major work/task to be done during the process?

thanks in advance
regards

Hi Rana,

Normally after you receive your PER, your file is transferred to your visa office...once they start processing your file they send the 2nd AOR....it normally takes about 3-4 weeks to get the 2nd AOR (if your VO is New Delhi)....m not sure about the other VO's...

After that it can take anywhere between 10-45 days to get MR....we have had applicants who received their MR within 10 days of 2nd AOR...and some havent received it even after 40 days ???

since u havent submitted the PCC with the initial application, they are sure to ask you to submit fresh ones when they issue the medicals.....so i suggest u wait before you apply for the PCC's....the visa office normally gives u anywhere between 45 - 60 days for submission :)...so u should have enough time to get the PCC's.....

other than this there is nothing much u can do....the VO can ask for any documents which they think would be necessary ::)....it differs with each applicant....

Let me know if you need any further info..

Regards,

Shareen

Thanks Shareen,
Your answers were of great help.

I've been advised by one of well-wishers to go for PCC as soon as e-cas status changes to RBVO.
Basically it'd be before VO asks but keeping the best assumption of time-line, I hope by doing so, it'd make me to have valid PCC IN HAND by the time VO would ask me to submit.....this is the main story.

Rest I need to know/clarify:
- Is 2nd AOR, a letter OR e-mail?

- How PCC, MR or other doc. would be asked from applicant to be submitted? By letter or e-mail?
I am afraid that if it's a letter and if the submission deadline starts from the date of issuance of letter, the time that letter would take in reaching me would unnecessarily eat-up the deadline.

E.g if VO gives me 45 days start from letter issuance date and if it'd take 5 days for the letter to reach me, I get effective 40 days only to make all submission.

Kindly clarify....& thanks in advance~

If that's possible, it'd be great.......even I want to finish PCC and send to VO before it's asked.
Finishing MR and other matters are not that difficult considering timeline...I am just concerned about PCC.

Is it really possible that VO accepts PCC before its asks for it?

hi,

i haven't heard of ny problems in sending docs before requested for......certain docs are not needed until they reach a particular stage of a process....and also there is a validity period for PCC....maybe u can apply for the foreign PCC's now and apply for the indian PCC wen asked for....i would suggest not to send until asked for.....maybe u can check with the other seniors such as Qorax....

2nd AOR comes thru ordinary mail....MR/RPRF/PPR forms come thru registered post.....sometimes it can reach u anywhere between a few days to a week....yes the deadline is from the date of issuance of the letter....the deadline date is also mentioned in the letter...

Shareen

I am just curious about my e-cas status which still shows "Application Received" although I got my PER via e-mail almost 4 days ago.

Does it takes time to change e-cas status after PER has been sent to applicant?

the ecas is never updated as regularly as we want it to be :D

dont worry about it....my ecas is always updated a step backward..... :p

its not 100 % reliable either.....hopefully u should receive your 2nd AOR soon....or if u r lucky, the MR might reach b4 :)

Thanks Shareen....I know patience is the key which I terribly lack apparently.

Well, seems just few hrs after I posted this concern of mine, I found my e-cas status changed from "Application Received" to "CIO-Eligibility Review Complete"

Anyways, your answer still puts light on real/actual way the things work here and I'll keep it in my mind.
Thanks buddy...!!

Please dont send any document unless they ask for it. You ECAS has to change to Received by VO, to know that your file is with them. Then you will receive 2nd AOR which confirms the receipt of file. When they request for docs, they give you time of minimum 45 days, so you can collect then.

@canadian.dream

Logically u r right but I am afraid that 45days might not be enough as I checked with one of Embassies from where I need to get PCC, I was informed that its gonna take at least 1 month to issue PCC.

So taking a safe option, I had a good round discussion at this forum and got viable opinions on when is the right time to apply for PCC BEFORE VO asks to make sure that by the time it's asked, one has in hand, a valid PCC in advance to be submitted.

And it seems that the right time is either as soon as e-case changes to RBVO or upon getting 2nd AOR at least for a country that's gonna take longer time.

Rest, of course you are right to mention not to submit any doc. untill it's asked by VO.
