Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

There's a more recent thread where you may be able to get current information - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/post-ppr-2021-moving-to-canada-2021-2022.739100/

They likely won't see this as a missing requirement. I believe that passport scan link is being enabled just to ensure that if the applicant is from a country travelling from which to Canada doesn't require a visa stamping, then they can share the necessary passport information (without...

PRTD is the travel document meant for those whose PR card(s) have expired while they were out of Canada and they couldn't renew it in time. Such PR status holders can use a single-use PRTD to re-enter Canada IIRC. Since you mentioned that you are an expired CoPR holder and not already a...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I do not know of the forms/declarations, but a negative Covid test requirement was just made official recently. Link: https://www.canada.ca/en/transport-canada/news/2020/12/pre-departure-covid-19-testing-and-negative-results-to-be-required-for-all-air-travellers-coming-to-canada.html

No experience with this, but I would keep the existing ticket and communication about possible flight cancellation with me to begin with. In case, the cancellation is starting to look confirmed, I'd try to get another flight, if that's an option. If nothing is sure, I'd just go ahead, present...

Not sure, if this applies to PR holders also, but this was the news: https://www.cicnews.com/2020/09/employers-must-pay-wages-to-foreigners-who-dont-have-social-insurance-numbers-0915606.html I hope it's applicable for your case also.

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I'm not sure, but I don't think there should be any issue, assuming your work permit is still valid and you still have the job. Having a job there IMO satisfies the 'essential travel' requirement. But you should still double-check this with IRCC using a web-form. Twitter may also work. Also...

    COPR and coronavirus

I think you are good to go. You have funds in your account now for your use and that's good enough. Where those funds were in past is somewhat irrelevant in my opinion. An application process can take a long time and you are under no obligation, as I see it, to keep your initial POF amount...

Hey, were you able to get your travel documents renewed?

Looks like some guidelines have been issued around air bubbles by civil aviation ministry. Air Canada is authorized to operate flights between India and Canada, besides Indian carriers https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/en/about-air-transport-bubbles

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

If you're travelling out of India on a VBM flight, then no, you don't need to apply anywhere before booking the ticket. You need to make sure that you're eligible to travel yourself and if needed, prove it to the airline staff at the airport. If you are taking a VBM flight to arrive back in...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Hey folks, I was just jotting down the things I learned to mind trying to book a flight since past few weeks, to save myself some time and headache, in case travel restrictions remain in place and I need them again, whenever that be Indian gov has to allow the airline to operate on that day and...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

There is indeed a ban, but not on international travel in its' entirety. The ban applies on scheduled commercial flights for sure though, which means that yes, you shouldn't rely on availability on tickets on airlines' sites alone. Some international flights are operating, but under many...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

First landing formalities (Immigration, customs, etc.) are completed at the first port of entry, where you land in Canada. Beyond that, it's considered domestic travel. I don't have any official source on the matter, but many people who have shared their landing experiences seem to confirm that...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

@hasandhu, I agree with pkhare23. Just one bit, where I'd suggest being extra careful. Please try to make sure that either your wife clears the immigration check on landing first or both of you do it together. An extra measure you can take is raising a webform for this query. Since it's a...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I have to admit, you have shown a lot of faith in IRCC and other concerned authorities, particularly in terms of timely responses in current atmosphere. IMHO, one month is not that big a time period for renewing travel docs, considering how normally an applicant has no direct line of contact...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Nice, particularly this part: "Bookings will open on 31st July 2020 at 2000 hrs IST, through Air India Website and Booking Offices ONLY." Yay for no agents, meh for such a late notification (<1.5 hrs)

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

I'd recommend being careful, check the details of the flight (operator, layover, transit time, etc.). If flight going out of India is AI within August and that matches up with the announced schedule of VBM-5 flights and you fulfill the transit requirements for passage through layovers, then yes...

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

Didn't check all the flights mentioned there, but the one to/fro Vancouver is using AI's VBM Paris flight for connecting with India. And the one to/fro Toronto is using Lufthansa's flights to/fro India. I think the former is safe, latter is not.

Traveling/Flights to Canada from India during COVID 19

For folks who are willing to travel on VBM flights, I believe you can still take the routes via CDG and FRA. Last time I checked (2 days ago), lots of seats were available on AI's site for these destinations. You'll have to book a separate connection flight from the layover to wherever you're...
