    COPR and coronavirus

With all this drama of new '2-option' emails, I cannot help but think that IRCC is openly running a scam now. An agent told me that new applicants and students to Canada are decreasing because they see the backlog. So now IRCC has come up with a new way of showing that they are working on...

    COPR and coronavirus

It's good that someone said this, but overall I think I have lost trust in this administration. They are illogical, cold and heartless. They are not even willing to provide any dates or allow travel in a phased manner. No point getting hopes up.

    COPR and coronavirus

Congratulations on the COPR. Frankly, it's impossible to say when the restrictions will be lifted. As you can see this thread is almost 1100 pages long. I've been on it since the beginning (almost), when it was less than 40 pages. I received my COPR on 19th March 2020, so I have been waiting...

    COPR and coronavirus

Dear members, not sure how many are following the VFS disaster that is unfolding in India. Thousands of people with PPRs have been waiting for more than 20 days now for passport collection. I personally have been waiting for more than 16 days, and have not received any payment link or...

    COPR and coronavirus

"Shock" is an understatement at this point. 'Hopeless', 'numb', 'tired', 'humiliated' are the adjectives I would use. It's day 13 of me waiting for a payment link. We are given 30 days to submit passport for stamping, and 13 days of silence have already passed.

    COPR and coronavirus

Yes, almost 3 months. I have no idea how to get in touch with VFS. I have tried calling their number several times, but nobody answers and they jumble you up in hundreds of options. It's very disheartening and depressing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, did remeds more than 3 months ago. My Visa expired in August 2020.

    COPR and coronavirus

Yes, I'm in that category. Received a Passport Request after remeds. However, VFS has still not sent the payment link for passport collection. It's been 10 days now.

    COPR and coronavirus

Just wanted to share this with everyone here (in case anyone has any suggestions or experiencing similar things): It's been 9 days since I submitted the webform for passport pickup for re-stamping. However, the VFS payment link has still not come in. No idea what's happening :-(

    COPR and coronavirus

I was only pointing out the absurdity of the options and the timeline. Why are there options in the first place? Why can't they simply provide ALs with a validity of 6 months? (because that's usually how much time you have from the day you get your COPR - for most cases). What if choose an...

    COPR and coronavirus

Has anyone recently received a passport submission request (PPR)? Could you kindly share how much time it took for the VFS payment link to get generated? It seems VFS has changed their process, and requires you to pay in advance, but they're taking forever to generate this link and we only have...

    COPR and coronavirus

This 'Now or Back to Square one' email seems like a nasty move to confuse people and trap them into making mistakes. It just seems very cunning. People have been waiting for so long without any fault of theirs. The language of this email is very insensitive.

    COPR and coronavirus

My friend, the most depressing part is that NO process is being followed. Who gets an AL and when they get it is ALL RANDOM. Our new COPRs are useless. I've been waiting for 7 months now with an expired COPR and received a new PPR request on Friday, and most likely it will be accompanied by a...

    COPR and coronavirus

Those who received PPRs, could you please share how much time it takes for VFS payment link to get generated, and passport pickup? Thanks!

    COPR and coronavirus

So, CIC News has finally put an article on the front page of their website, highlighting the voices of COPR holders who have been abandoned by the Canadian government. Not that I'm expecting anything to change, but people should try to share this article and spread the word through social media.

    COPR and coronavirus

As far as I understand (I've been waiting for more than one year now), there is no "process" to apply for an authorization letter. People have burnt the midnight oil calling offices, writing hundreds of emails. Some got lucky, some are still waiting :(

    COPR and coronavirus

Ideally, your company's immigration lawyers should help you obtain the AL. If they're not able to help, then you can try writing to IRCC. If the job is considered essential, they usually give you an AL. Some people on this thread have been successful with their AL requests.

    COPR and coronavirus

If your COPR was issued before 18th March 2020, you're free to travel. Otherwise, you need an authorization letter.

There are some who received an AL without receiving a new "Visa". Did you get a new stamp?

    COPR and coronavirus

Just venturing an honest guess. Majority of the people on this forum who have had their remedicals done and have COPR from before March 18th have eventually received an AL.
