    So you could try to do one of the following: 1) Get a US visa and try the land border 2) Consult an immigration lawyer prior to submitting your application for a PRTD 3) Renounce your current PR status, wait for it to be approved and then apply for programs such as express entry to become a new PR.

    Do you mean your PR card? Do you have a US visa or you can go to US without visa? If so, you can try enter Canada by road and then explain your situation to the border officers.

    For Option 3, actually one can just walk across the border (no need to get a private vehicle). For example a person can fly to Buffalo NY, then get a taxi to Rainbow bridge border crossing and then walk across to the Canadian side. For Option 4, it's doable.

    What tight timeline? No schedule of returning to Canada yet. I saw another post, someone Taiwan got PRTD within a week. Edit: Also if your itinerary includes a stopover/layover in Detroit / Seattle in USA, you can cross the land border without PRTD.
