    I have never heard of IRCC requesting PCC for the sponsor. Are you sure that was the request? Since your wife is the sponsor, she is NOT your dependent in the application. You are the principle applicant and she is the sponsor.

    No one here can sponsor you. Family sponsorship is for PRs/citizens of Canada to sponsor their immediate family members. If you do not have family as PR/citizen, no one can sponsor you.

    That's great news. But as far as I know, Canada do not have tax exemption for sickness. People usually unable to work under sickness will have lower income or they can claim some of their medical expenses for tax deduction. But it's best to discussion with a tax accountant.
