Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

I don't know about the eCOPR - I am warning that the text in the COPR (paper version) is VERY clear, just that people do not pay attention to it. (Or think it can be fixed later - and it can't).

Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

I want to underline (not so much for you but for anyone else who reads this who is looking into it): -it is EXTREMELY serious and shows how important it is to READ THE DOCS YOU GET FROM IRCC AND BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING. -We see lots of cases of this here, and effectively ZERO where IRCC does not...

Did not disclose marriage before ECOPR, Need help rectifying it

I'm sure that there have been more than one case, and different specifics. But as far as I'm aware they've all involved the PA advising CBSA/IRCC as soon as possible.

Step mum listed instead of brith mum

Sure. But fair to say that for the initial documentation will be presumed that the child of five had no role and could not have misrepresented.

Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

Obviously we cannot know for sure that all officers always ask - but in the end, that discussion boils down to "did they sign a document saying everything is truthful that lists their family members?" - if so, irrelevant if the officer asks, because you signed a document saying this (see next...

    PCC for Canadian Citizenship

Look, since you're posting elsewhere asking - download the form, read it. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/cit0002.html The answer is in section 10(b), in the text under the box 'list each country or territory below.'

Canadian Citizenship Application -- PCC Needed ?

Seriously - download the form, go through it. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/cit0002.html You have to apply online now (I think) but the content is the same.

    PCC for Canadian Citizenship

If you look on the form (the downloadable one), yes, it confirms in one of the notes that you do not need if any days outside Canada >183 days were in country of origin prior to landing as a PR. This is in the fields immediately around the number of days/PCC. I'll leave it to you to find it.

    GCMS - RC-8090

Not to be a non-downer, but RC-8090 seems just to refer to the Sydney processing centre - where I believe every single citizenship app is also referred to. So as far as I can tell, having RC-8090 listed as one of the offices means ... precisely nothing. Fast files will see it, so will slow ones...

Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

I realize now I wrote this entire screed only in the context of a spouse, but equally true for children - just so that all realize it does apply to anyone who should have been disclosed (and checked) as an immediate family member.

Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

I don't know how much it's required for the officer to ask, TBH. In my experience (limited!), they do. I actually am a tiny bit sympathetic to those who maybe miss what the officer says on this - it is a classic environment where one can be a bit overwhelmed, often it may not be native...

Who would like to explain the "at the time of that application"117(9)(D)? Does it include "the first time landing"

You did indeed get a bit lucky, in the sense that you actually listened to what the officer said. Many don't seem to, nor read the information sent to them. This is NOT, however, one of those "well it was hidden in the fine print" things. It's reasonably clear. It's repeated multiple times, in...

Accidentally put web form to withdraw spousal sponsorship application

As the childish one who started this thread ( https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/%E2%80%A6.876833/ ), collected info from others, and then deleted all your posts afterwards, I should think it's not worth anyone spending their time assisting you any more.

YVR Landing as PR without meeting Residency Obligation 730 days

I got lost in that sentence somewhere. At any rate:I have no opinion / no info on the likelihood or differences between flying or land entry for the PR-with-valid-PR-card (out of compliance) case at all. I could speculate on reasons why it might be different, but I don't think that's very...

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Are your spouse's LPP (all three, including prohibitions) cleared? If prohibitions are not cleared, then I don't think you can say it's not stuck in security. The exact split between background and prohibitions is not entirely clear to me, but I'm quite certain that at least some of the...

TRAVELING WITH THE COPR AND IMMIGRANT VISA ON THE PASSPORT

-If the airlines say it's okay, then getting the visa to remain in the international part of airport is not needed. France's main airports are quite good at this. I suspect even getting the visa will be a problem once they understand. But it's up to you. -Technically you do NOT need to have a...

French citizens considering Canada – question about Québec vs federal immigration

It can be highly specific to circumstances and specific programs, so don't want to generalize too much. But in case you describe above, once you get the federal PR, you will have the right to live anywhere in Canada, i.e. do not need to be selected by Quebec to remain in Canada. As I alluded...

French citizens considering Canada – question about Québec vs federal immigration

I'm not an expert on this but I think there are some potential issues which need to be looked at carefully, i.e. can cause some problems - albeit temporary usually - with Quebec. That said, you're right in the main that at minimum, settling/trying in some other province for some relatively...
