    Where had you been living before coming to Canada? Do you qualify for any other citizenships or what country do you have status in? Living on disability or welfare is incredibly difficult in Canada given the cost of living. Most are dependent on charity for things like food for example.

    Canada ignored the issue for a long time. There is now a lot of push from citizens to reduce volume of temporary residents and people without status. We are already seeing changes that will make it harder to remain without status like not being able to get a driver’s license in some provinces.
