WP / SP refusal - what does "leave immediately" mean

Did your daughter also get her SP extension refused? You are required to leave as soon as possible. Canada is somewhat reasonable and doesn’t expect most people will be able to leave right away. You should aim to leave as soon as possible but would aim for at least within 30 days.

Emergency: PR Visas CANCELLED after issuance, flight is next week! Has this happened to anyone?

Would contact IRCC and order GCMS notes. I would also work with a Canadian immigration lawyer.

Emergency: PR Visas CANCELLED after issuance, flight is next week! Has this happened to anyone?

Very unlikely to receive any to much compensation. Why COPR was cancelled also hasn’t been identified which is a very important part of the story.

Is this enough proof of ties for my husband’s visitor visa?

Processing may take months and approval far from guaranteed. It is extremely unusual for married couples to live apart when expecting a child with no plans to live together. Would apply asap. 10k is also not a lot of funds for a 2 month stay and 2 months is not a typical visit length for an...

counting days o/s Canada while accompanying Canadian spouse, towards residency obligation

Agree that with the fact that you never accompanied your spouse since you never actually lived in Canada. Can’t remember if IRCC asked for concrete proof of plans to move to Canada 5 years ago so that people only sponsor their spouse when they plan on relocating to a Canada in the near future...

Can a visitor from the US obtain HRT testosterone prescription in Canada?

Probably not something most walk-in clinics would be willing to do. Would contact local LGBTQIA+ organization to see if they work with a specific MD who may be willing to prescribe to a visitor.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

If not part of the table not really part of the levels plan. This was a sneaky way to say you reduced PR targets but ant the same time adding a few one times programs. The 115k should have been included in the 2026 and 2027 targets for PR for protected people. The issue becomes that dependents...

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

The issue is that this doesn’t account for dependents. Those who are already in Canada won’t change pressure on housing/schooling/healthcare, won’t lead to additional spending, etc. but once you add the dependents of around 250k protected people over 2 years it has a significant impact.

    Quitting on maintained status

Partially depends on whether your employer has an approved LMIA and you qualify for a CWP. Is the LMIA and WP for your current employer? When does your WP expire? Were you on a CWP?

Quebec pausing new family sponsorship application until June 2026

Where do you live and work in Quebec? Can you actually permanently relocate to another province and cut ties with Quebec?

    Privately Sponsored Refugee from Turkey

The backlogs are already incredibly long. IRCC really needs to pause new applications for multiple years to try to clear some of the backlog. Having people apply with processing of around 5+ yrs is not a functional system.
