If PRTD application under H&C considerations is rejected

-The beginning language is boilerplate really. The "otherwise complied with..." refers to the other ways to 'meet' RO (eg be given leniency under H&C), so nothing strange, it's saying (somewhat legalese) that they don't think your H&C meets the standard. -No implication specifically that...

    PRTD Application

Your case seems pretty straightforward (from the info I see, so kind of guessing) - personally I'd proceed as you did without translations and just first page, and in whatever correspondence you attach, just note you're providing these to show you reside together (proof of address). Don't...

Have COPR; Short Visit without Landing?

I'd tell them if it comes up. If they ask, just tell them you don't wish to 'land' (become a PR) just yet, if that's what you want. Note, there's no harm in doing it early either. The one thing is you'd have to get the PR card sent somewhere in Canada and then sent on to you in UK. (That's the...

You asked for that reassurance, and decided to continue catastophizing about it. Ok then.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

You will know when you get the email. You can check the IRCC 'when are citizenship ceremonies' for your city (internet search), and guess whether the day of the week of ceremonies they mention seems to fit the published dates for that city. This method's not infallible though, not clear they...

If PRTD application under H&C considerations is rejected

Here I think that the legal fiction that a database /IS/ a record of reality is yet another level of abstraction (let's call that reality-prime), and the meshing of all of these different gears means that the reality we think of is going to be violently treated between the hard place of the law...

    Citizenship interview- over 55 years

I wrote of our experience here: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/march-2025-citizenship-applications.867956/post-11059511 I can't say how other interviews will go; as I note, there was one bit about my spouse's physical presence, but overall seemed to want...

    Citizenship interview- over 55 years

Interviews often seem to be for purpose of physical presence verification, and given your 1102 days, probably more likely because of that than because of your age. (My spouse had one, also 1100 plus change days). I do not know about whether they do this interview from abroad.

And vice-versa of course. Note that requesting a rescheduling (either direction) probably means at least a small delay, or perhaps more - may depend on location.

Common-law and married to the same person

Read the checklist for spousal/common-law sponsorship, it will outline expected levels of documentation. Note, in above: you mention together but aren't specific about when residing together, when married, and when sponsor became a PR (or is citizen).

Common-law and married to the same person

I do not, specifically. There have been a few others here. It's not even controversial, i.e. it's clearly permitted. To be honest, if the refusal has just happened, I think there is a possibility that they would reconsider if you requested to be considered as common law. (Although not sure it...

If PRTD application under H&C considerations is rejected

I don't think that's a 'fiction' that Canadian law supports or even suggests, but is just something that people say - a colloquial understanding not backed by law. My re-phrasing of what I understand of the actual legislation (caveat: not an expert) is that a POE is a designated place for entry...

Common-law and married to the same person

Sure. If you qualify under common law, that's a good reason. You'll want to document the common law carefully given previous refusal.

Yes, but what advantage? (There are some potential cases but quite uncommon)

    February 2025 - Citizenship Applications

It's simple logic really: the family applications can't be processed faster than the slowest of the family members. So combinations of more than one application will be slower, on average, than individual applications. Or put differently, any family application will be slower than the average...

If PRTD application under H&C considerations is rejected

It's not just the officers (although I overall agree with your reasoning about the time they have to make such decisions) - under the immigration act, there is this text: "a person who is outside Canada and who does not present a status document indicating permanent resident status is presumed...
