Medical exam waiver for dependents kida

IRCC is very reluctant to remove dependent children from the applications. You will have to provide a lot of proof showing they will not do the medicals. Are they in the care of their other parent? If so you should be contacting them as well. How old are the children?

    Caregiver program

Processing time can also take years and it is very difficult to secure a spot so something to consider as well. Realistically hiring someone already in Canada will have to be the plan for the first few years. No matter what this will be very expensive.

    Caregiver program

Are you sure he will pass the medical? Assume you are aware that if he ends up in long term care during the first 20 years (10 years in QC) you have to pay the monthly bed fee of around 2.5k/month. Hiring someone to care for him at home will cost around $25/hr or more and at this point you’ll...

Seeking Guidance on Strengthening Visitor Visa Reapplication for Web Summit 2026

The reason for travel doesn’t make sense for your family. It may make sense for just you if you can show you have attended similar conferences in other countries, you can show that your employer or the conferences is covering your costs to attend the conference, etc. You would also need to show...

    Retroactive payment of CCB

If CRA is happy with the proof of income provided you should receive the rest of the CCB.

    Waiting for admissibility hearing date

Were they given entry into Canada and for how long or are they in immigration detention. Are they needing to return home? Have you hired a lawyer and have they indicated what are their chances of overcoming the inadmissibility?

    Quebec Parents & Grandparents Program(PGP)

That still doesn’t mean much when it comes to processing time.

    Refugee/Asylum Claimants 2023 Timeline

The proposed set of laws would be applicable to new cases. There may be a set of law for processing of existing asylum claims. We’ll need to wait and see.

    New proposed asylum rules

Not suggesting current applicants would not get due process. Identifying targeted groups for faster processing would be an option. Processing groups of applicants quickly because most don’t have grounds for asylum would be a good option.

PR cap - Category for protected persons

Except there are still cases from 2023 and likely some from 2022 also in the backlog. Quotas for protected people receiving PR are also set to decrease from 2025 to 2027

    Visitor visa 2024

Realistically if the conference date has passed there would be no need for the TRV. IRCC is aware that people think that saying you are attending a conference will make it easy to secure a TRV. You typically also need to show that you have attended similar conferences internationally before and...

    New proposed asylum rules

To be fair this plan likely was started under Marc Miller who suggested around last November to expect an announcement regarding asylum but sadly December came and went with no announcement. Then proroguing happened so there was no opportunity for changes and the election. These things don’t...

    School changed their program schedule

Would suggest applying for the extension very early because processing times are very long. As long as he has been a genuine full-time student there should be no issue getting the extension. He is only asking for an extension to finish the semester.

Asking for a friend (PGWP Holder)

Getting accepted under AIP has become extremely difficult especially if you don’t work in certain fields like healthcare and trades. Provinces also want to select younger applicants because the Maritimes in general has an older population. This may have been a pathway a few years ago but AIP is...

    Sputum Test

    1. None. TB testing is often required from visiors in certain parts of the world. 2. Around 3 months. Sputum culture needs time to grow and then a repeat chest X-ray will need to be done. IRCC will then review the results. 3. Not sure what you mean once the sputum culture is done and repeat...

    New proposed asylum rules

Not necessarily. The majority of Canada and conservatives in Canada are more centrist. PP was not calling for a ban on asylum seekers. If anything some of the statements from PP were more moderate than Carney. If anything government lawyers likely had the most input on what changes could be...

    New proposed asylum rules

I would still expect that some action will be taken to address the backlog of cases. The volume of cases in the backlog is not manageable given current processing methods. The focus on minimizing the number of new cases is more urgent so it makes sense to focus on this first.
