    Notice of decision

Would not count on a week if an extra submission is made. A week is fast even when there is no extra submission. The lawyer has to submit the extra material, the member has to review it and then send the NOD all while doing other work. It is fairly normal for most people to get their NOD in the...

    My Claim Timeline 2025 May

You can’t. Most of the asylum claim process requires no involvement from the asylum seeker. Assume you are working with a lawyer but I have attached an overview of the asylum claim process. It may take a long time before you are assessed to see if your case will be considered as less complex...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

If governent operated on data and common sense we wouldn’t be in this mess so tough to predict what IRCC will do but it is certainly on the table. As the article attached recommended people need to be prepared for the possibility of major changes to H&C. Many should consider meeting with an...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

French is not an option for everyone but has been an option for the past few years although it does take time and energy and is not easy. I have routinely criticized the government’s immigration policies and poor planning for almost a decade at this point. It will likely take 5-10 years to try...

    Notice of decision

If a lawyer wants to submit extra material that is typically because of a concern based on the member’s questioning. Do you know what material they are going to submit? Context matters in this situation so your lawyer would be the only one who could really give you a realistic interpretation of...

    My Claim Timeline 2025 May

Think this may have been either a miscommunication or misinterpretation. These things are independent of the asylum claimant and just a step in processing. What I interpret is that IRB is waiting for FESS and your file can’t move forward without it. Not sure how long it may take to get FESS. As...

    My Claim Timeline 2025 May

Think there may be some miscommunication. What I am interpreting is that they are just in a queue.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Agree in principle but backlog is way too large to limit immigration for that long (could take 20 years) and would essentially shut down economic immigration to Canada which would be detrimental longterm as well. Also stops the ability for Canada to be selective when it comes to economic...

    2025 PR Application Timeline

Whether people believe me or not now the government and immigration professionals are confirming things that I have been saying. Although this article focuses on H&C applies to other categories as well...

    2025 PR Application Timeline

That is just the initial easy stage. Would expect their application to move very little for the next few years. That is just the reality.

    2025 PR Application Timeline

Yes they will. It is partially the result of governent incompetence & poor planning and the desire to be the most “humanitarian” country. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/50-year-immigration-wait-stuns-lawyers-and-families-but-ircc-says-it-s-no-mistake-9.6939919

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Sadly they do reflect reality. Also gross incompetence by IRCC. I have been pointing out huge problems in IRCC’s longterm planning for years. The math never mathed and action should have been taken a long time ago. Marc Miller apparently tried but was prevented from making some of the reforms he...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Just appeared this morning essentially saying exactly what I have been saying. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/50-year-immigration-wait-stuns-lawyers-and-families-but-ircc-says-it-s-no-mistake-9.6939919

    MEXICAN AGRI WORKER - TOURIST

Farming is not typically a Mon-Fri job so surprised he can live with you every weekend and has the time off. He can certainly try for a TRV but will likely be hard and would only suggest asking for a brief visit around 2 weeks. How much savings can he show?

RO not met, first five years

The bigger issue people run into when entering Canada already non-compliant with their RO is that you should technically remain for the next 730 days until you become compliant or at least minimize how much time you spend outside of Canada because at every border entry you could be reevaluated...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

H&C is meant for rare exceptional circumstances not for people with no other pathway to PR. One does not necessarily mean the other. There are many people who have applied for H&C because they have established a life in Canada, haven’t been able to sponsor their parents, etc. That is not going...

    Notice of decision

Yes typically. Not getting a decision on the day of the hearing means very little. Some members never give results at the hearing. Your lawyer, who attended the hearing, would be the best person to ask about how the hearing went and why they want to make another submission.

Eligibility letter received one year ago

Would be prepared for processing to take many more years (assume outside Quebec). https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

    My Claim Timeline 2025 May

You can’t request FESS you are in a long queue waiting for your turn. Your claim is being evaluated for potentially faster processing to determine if you can get a result without a hearing or with a short hearing. Fast is a relative term these days and could take another year+ to get a response...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Canada is already removing those waiting for H&C results if results aren’t imminent & they don’t have status. 5 year to decades for a response is not functional because people will lose their status. Canada doesn’t want to increase the volume of people without status as well. Yes the...
