Based on previous data general H&C seems to only have been allocated around 1/5th of the total H&C quota so closer to 1k/yr. A large percentage of those who received AIP typically received PR. If the program continues as is that could change because of the much longer processing times where...
The previous posted processing times were incorrect. If you were paying attention to the immigration target plans and number of applications it was clear that the posted processing times were wrong and that processing time was going to keep getting longer. It was constantly being revised...
May be very tough to prove that you are living in Ontario given what you are proposing and the fact that your employer is in Quebec and primarily doing remote work. You will essentially be spending the majority of the time abroad not in Ontario and have minimal ties to Ontario.
Congratulations! Mandamus definitely was the right option for your case but as a reminder to others your case should be years longer than others who applied at the same time to really consider mandamus. Many will now wait 6 years for the PR but for most that will be normal processing. Mandamus...
Really tough to recommend anything these days without knowing what reforms the government plans to make, without seeing the updated immigration targets (we should get it soon), etc.
Your case definitely not standard. You actually will have minimal ties to Ontario and still will have ties to Quebec until July. Will you get added to the lease by the landlord if you rent a room in Ontario? Where is your employer physically located? Do you ever have to go into the office...
Yes there is a very good chance that this will be considered misrepresentation if you try to claim this work experience. IRCC is very strict now about these types of issues. Would speak to a lawyer if you are still considering trying to claim the experience.
Yes you can live with a roommate. Assume you are also not keeping you home in Quebec. Have you secured a job in Ontario? That would be important. Yes you can go on vacation and visit your spouse. If starting a new job in Ontario you may not have much vacation time for quite a while.
Turn on the US news it will probably make you feel better. Think in general it helps to get perspective. I may be frustrated by things but still know that I am much luckier on my worst day than many others in the world.
The timing is likely to raise some concerns so hopefully you significant proof of your relationship, wedding was attended by family, etc. Agree that you need to add your spouse to your PR application before they can attempt to get a WP.
