H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

H&C used to be a relatively small program but always had a quota just like there has always been PR targets for refugees/protected people. The processing times for refugees/protected people has gotten much longer and will continue getting longer because they do have a yearly PR quota. Canada is...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Although there are certainly genuine H&C claims I don’t see a way to weed out potential genuine cases while also addressing the totally dysfunctional general H&C program. There are around 50k applications! What is more likely is cancelling the whole thing and potentially creating a new program...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Bill c2 became bill c-12 primarily due to privacy concerns related to the bill not immigration. Notice how some immigration lawyers are the ones objecting not MPs.

She doesn’t qualify for a supervisa unless as a dependent of your father on his supervisa application.

Gaining Experience 2nd Stage timeline Home Support Worker

You still have to pass background checks. Would suggest using the new processing tool god a more realistic timeline for processing, https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

    ICAC

If your application is being considered a less complex case because your application has a high chance of being approved then I would be less concerned about bill c-12. Hard to comment without knowing your case. Processing times are quite long even for less complex cases these days. Being...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Neither would change processing of your application but I would suggest waiting a few weeks before making any changes to see if we get more clarity on the future of H&C.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Some people do have other options just not their preferred option and many have been misled that things like establishment in Canada or having children will be a relatively easy path to PR via H&C. They applied for H&C versus pursuing other options like learning French, returning home to...

Moving outside Quebec to apply for spousal sponsorship — need own apartment or can be a roommate?

What would help is spending time living in a home in Ontario not just buying one. Remember your employer is still located in Quebec, you have been living in Quebec, etc. You are trying to show that you have permanently settled in Ontario.

Moving outside Quebec to apply for spousal sponsorship — need own apartment or can be a roommate?

Renting and buying a house does not mean you are a resident of Ontario or even a tax resident if spending the majority of your time outside of Ontario. You may not actually qualify for OHIP depending on how much time you plan on spending in Ontario.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

If there are no reforms you still have around 32 months if processing left. There is a high chance of reforms to this program. I would be exploring other immigration options. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

Extend or change the conditions of your work permit

Will likely depend on your specific case and whether IRCC feels like there is a good chance your WP will be approved. Canada is trying to reduce the volume of temporary workers in general.

Eligibility letter received one year ago

What is the goal of ordering GCMS notes? You have received AOR and eligibility and know processing will be around 5 years. This is just normal processing. There will be years when nothing changes with your application because processing times are so long. You are sitting in a long line waiting...

Visitor visa application timeline Oct 2025

Processing times were never guaranteed. Also unclear what your status is in Canada, why you want to visit Canada, when her study permit expires in the US, what ties you have to the US, etc. which all can lead to longer processing times.

Moving outside Quebec to apply for spousal sponsorship — need own apartment or can be a roommate?

You can sponsor your spouse while abroad but your major ties remain in Quebec. You would have to prove you will settle outside Quebec. Your best option would be to move to Ontario and actually remain in Ontario while you sponsor your spouse. You still have an ongoing lease in Quebec that you...

Children accompanied in Spousal Open Work Permit

Want to clarify had you lived with your girlfriend/future wife for over a year when you applied for PR? If so was she included on your PR application? The other issue is you don’t seem to be compliant with your RO which also could lead to problems.
