I was a temporary resident of Canada from May 2017 to September 2025. When I left Canada in September 2025, I was working in Canada under maintained status after submitting my PGWP application, which is still under processing. I am still working for the same employer remotely from my home country.
My TRV expired shortly after I left Canada on September 30, 2025. I would like to apply for a TRV from my home country for work-related purposes. Has anyone applied for a TRV while waiting for a PGWP decision?

Where are you applying from because processing can be long? Many people have done it but apply ASAP. Also some have had their TRVs refused because didn't show ties to return since you are a temporary worker.

Ties to return are spouse/children, business, income properties and job prospects. Show that you have cash in the bank to support yourself. You are coming to work, not visit.

Processing is at least 3 months not including another month for passport stamping. May get if faster but don't plan on it.

Were you a student all that time? Full-time?

I am not married yet; can I show parents as ties to return? I don't have a bank account in India since I have been living and working in Canada since 2017; is the fund in a Canadian bank account okay?
On the IRCC website, when applying for a visitor visa, do you choose 'to work' or 'to visit'? Meaning, should I state the reason for return as 'to work'?
I want to know if these are correct to apply for TRV:
1) What would you like to do in Canada?- Work
2) How long are you planning to stay in Canada? - Temporarily, less than 6 months.
Parents are not a tie so you don't have family ties to return. Show your Canadian bank account. You are coming to work but you are staying longer than 6 months. Assume you plan to work for length of approved PGWP. Honestly get a lawyer to review.
