LMIA-Exempt Closed Work Permit (Specialized Knowledge, ICT) - Reached 5-Year Cap, Options to Extend or Stay in Canada

There is an attempt to tighten up the system and many have gotten used to IRCC turning a blind eye and approving almost everyone. Many have unrealistic expectations of what may be possible and many will not be able to remain in Canada. Much harder to make people leave than prevent people from...

    Permanent Residency

Did your mother apply for the caregiver PR program 3 years ago since you have a sibling who is 25? Your mother will have to update your address to indicate you are living outside of Canada so you can receive COPR and not eCOPR.

What is my study permit status?

Would add that schools were supposed to be reporting students who did not attend in the past but there was zero coordination between IRCC and schools so many got away with doing what you are suggesting. That has ended and schools are now reporting which international students are actually...

unemployed while waiting for PR processing.. a question

If you are unable to afford to hire them at this point yes that would be an issue because of the job offer component. Tough to justify that you employed a caregiver and have stopped employing them after they applied for PR but are still providing a job offer. If there was genuine need for a...

TRV Application tracker & Passport Stamping

Do not book tickets until you have your stamped passports. Stamping is taking more than 3 weeks in many cases. They are visiting Canada so waiting a few weeks to book a flight should not be a huge issue but may prevent you from losing money if not non-refundable.

    Work History

Not an issue. For the spousal sponsorship IRCC is just interested in seeing you can support your family in Canada and isn’t focused on what jobs you have listed or claimed points for.

Portal 1- Portal 2- ECOPR Time line for REFUGEES-PROTECTED PERSON ONLY- 2023 APPLICANTS

Applicant in Canada should go through PR process first and are processed on their own. The P1 is just for them and shouldn’t involve any dependents.

    Delayed TRV processing from Malaysia

So they applied for their own TRV then. Why would you have to leave Canada if your TRV expired? Processing times can be quite long. It appears as though your family member was primarily processed through AI which is why it was processed quickly. If anything there are more red flags for your...

Inviting parent while being an international student

It always comes down to their personal profile like any other visitor. Proof of funds, ties to their home country (employment, property ownership, dependents in their home country, etc.) as well as things like their international travel history (especially to countries like US, UK, Australia...

    Outland PR application for spouse

The posted processing time for inland application doesn’t actually reflect the processing time people are experiencing. Nobody knows why it is so high but would suggest looking at some recent applicants and processing times are not 34 weeks. There is some variability between processing times and...

Does receiving child benefit makes you unable to sponsor spouse?

Sponsor you? Just for your info CCB is not social assistance but a monthly tax free payment meant to both encourage people to have children given Canada’s low fertility rate and to try to partially offset the high cost of raising children in Canada. The amount you receive is determined by your...
