    The professional degree can’t be 5.5 yrs if you’re including the 1 year paid internship. You have to pick education or work experience. It would be 4-4.5 yrs depending on whether there is a break included in how you are counting.

    Unless you have significant savings, an extensive travel history, other strong ties to your home country like property ownership or family in your home country (spouse & dependent children), a good reason for travel, etc. it will be difficult to get approved if you are unemployed.

    They would have to send their passport outside Canada. They would also have to leave and try to reenter to initiate the supervisa on their next visit. If they plan to have an extended visit longer than 6 months makes much more sense to wait for the supervisa.
