IMG in Canada : How are you surviving?

Almost everyone predicted a conservative government purely because of historical records. In Canada we typically go through political cycles alternating between Liberal and conservative governments. The results had very little to do with Canada and much more to do with the US. The conservatives...

Study permit application refused, I need advice.

On top of this there has been a high rate of asylum claims from Uganda which will also raise concerns. How did your aunt get status in Canada? A $550 loan repayment for 7 years is not realistic if you live in Uganda. If the loan is from a Canadian institution then that also raises concerns...

Super visa for parents and in-laws, should it be done together or separate?

Not necessarily required but couldn’t hurt to both sign the invitation letter.

Medical exam validity extension for additional 12 months (new CIC Bulletin)

It was assessed and extended because it was expired. Either had to extend it or request another one. It’s unrelated to processing time.

PR Card successfully Renewed - H&C grounds / Not meeting RO

Likely quite a lot of luck was involved. Another person in a similar position could have been denied with such little time in Canada.

Private Health Insurance & Mental Health Coverage

Unless available through a workplace the plans are unlikely to provide a lot of coverage and certainly not for preexisting conditions. The insurance companies model for private insurance policies is to make money not to set themselves up to lose money. It often doesn’t make sense to purchase...

Overseas spouse and dependents of protected person and convention refugee timeline - Share here

Unless there is a new dependent like a spouse there shouldn’t be any dependents added they need to be included when submitting the initial PR application as dependents.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Please consult a lawyer before doing so. This is a very risky thing to do and if denied they will have difficulty visiting Canada. They have the option of a supervisa if want to spend a longer period of time in Canada. Many seem to be under the false impression that H&C is a good option...

No do not book. IRCC asks to provide flight details but also specifies not to book a ticket until you have a TRV.

Case Rejected - My options ?

Your lawyer is the best person to provide advice about whether they feel like you have strong grounds for appeal. Should be processed faster than 2.5 years. If the member found you credible did they feel that you didn’t have grounds for asylum and that was why you were denied?

    DECISION MADE Group of 5

The letter indicates that the application is being returned to you so it appears as though it was refused because it was incomplete. Were you not asked or your private sponsors to submit the missing information at an earlier date?

I was just saying that this means very little in terms of an estimate of actual processing times.

Sponsor retired and main income is his pensions. - Spousal Sponsorship - Outland

Really depends on how much income he receives on a monthly basis and his amount of savings. It also appears as though he is disabled so his costs may also be a factor.

Need advice for TRV in case of immigration agent interview.

There is still a high chance of refusal because you are not a genuine visitor. The IRCC call centre can’t actually provide advice about your immigration options. If you need advice you should speak to an immigration lawyer or consultant. How did your wife and children obtain PR?

LMIA-Exempt Closed Work Permit (Specialized Knowledge, ICT) - Reached 5-Year Cap, Options to Extend or Stay in Canada

Claiming asylum if you don’t have grounds for asylum and will be denied has significant longterm consequences in Canada and in other countries is not a good plan. The asylum claim can also have longterm consequences for your family in and outside Canada. Also could take less time to process so...
