    I think you have bigger problems than worrying about work permit. CBSA doesn't just show up knocking at doors, it's a very rare enforcement action. If I were to guess, there's more to this story than you are sharing. Working with an attorney is your best bet.

    You claim asylum and are pretty much guaranteed at least 10 years in Canada. There's nothing the govt will do to tighten anything, especially now since all the focus is on economy.
