Hi all,
I just received my passport. The visa expires in a month. Has anyone here landed recently despite all restrictions? I need to land and return to the U.S. the same day.

Landing appointments will be held by telephone, if possible
We cancelled all in-person permanent resident landing appointments until further notice. All landing appointments will be done by telephone whenever possible. Otherwise, we’ll reschedule them for later.

We’ll contact you by email to let you know when your phone appointment will be. Use the Web form if you need to update your contact information.

Approved permanent resident applicants with expired or expiring documents
If we already approved your permanent resident application but you can't travel to Canada before your documents expire, use the Web form to tell us why you can’t travel.

Once it’s possible for you to travel, use the Web form to let us know so we can tell you what to do next.

As our PR is approved officially, can we apply for new job right now?
I am sorry to say but I don't think so. I did the same mistake and apply for jobs. I received a few interview calls as well but they require the valid proof of landing and sin before you join. I have lost atleast 3 opportunities due to this.

Coronavirus - PR approved after March 18, 2020 - Outside Canada

The Government of Canada is closely monitoring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and any impacts on IRCC clients.

If your Confirmation of permanent residence was issued after March 18, 2020:

  • You’re not exempt from the travel restrictions measures, and
  • You cannot travel to Canada yet.
This is the answer I received when I raised the same question to the agent. Please keep us posted. We also need to return to the U.S. the same day.

Thanks. This is helpful. What do you plan to do if the visa expires and cannot travel to Canada yet?

Have you seen this?
"Temporary workers, some international students, and approved permanent residents who haven’t yet landed are now able to enter Canada. "

Yes. I have seen it. But on the same page, it also says the following,

"If you haven’t landed yet
If we approved your permanent residence application on or before March 18, 2020, but you haven’t landed yet, you’re also exempt from the travel restrictions and allowed to come to Canada."

The instruction is not clear for permanent residence application approved after March 18, 2020.

I have not received my passport yet. But I called and the agent said the PR visa expires this September.

Many members wont like it but please maintain the "thread rules" and discuss "whatever their questions are" on relevant threads or do create new one as this thread is meant for those having "ottawa office ,"passport has been delivered and waiting for copr"
thanks

I am surprised they replied that quick. Let’s hope for something by tomorrow.
