Hi, my IELTS is expiring in Dec 2016. I gave my last IELTS in India, however since I'm in US, planning to give my IELTS in US in Nov 2016.

Like to know if someone has similar exp# and can share difference in pattern in tests (Listening, Reading and especially Speaking). As in India exams are tested by Indian folks, and here it will be in US?

Suggest?

It's universal, that's the point. It's an internationally recognised standard of language ability.

Thanks KrytOn and DelPiero07.

I'm worried on:
- speaking, as in India you converse with an Indian assessor.
- other tests (example - Writing) are validated by Indian assessor.

In both cases - Indian assessor understand your accent and writing skills and recognize well. Is that correct? Does that make any impact?

The speaking test is not graded by the interviewer, but by someone else who will listen to the recording. In any case, the test is standardized around the world.

Format should be same, I believe it might have some impact in Speaking section as the examiner would be non Indian in US.

Well when I (native English) had my speaking test in Canada it was by a non-native English speaker and they had a very strong accent. I knew I had to be careful not to ask them to repeat themselves as it sounds as if I don't understand them.

You also have to understand that if your accent is so strong that most Canadians can't understand you that you might be marked down. The point if the test is that you speak clearly enough to be understood.

It is standardized test. As long as you don't have a very thick accent you need not worry. I took the IELTS first in India(June 2015) and then in Canada(June 2016). In speaking, I got only 6.5 in India but in Canada I got 7!!!
