We are looking at flights to bring her back if all goes well next Thursday.
Question for anyone who can answer. As long as she has her visa, passport with upgraded stamp is she good to go? Perhaps going into the immigration office in Santa Clara just to ask might be an option so that we have no surpries at the airport. Any thoughts?

Greeneys...I agree with that 100%. I have told my two friends as well go to their immigration office with the visa in passport and see if all is good to go they can just leave. It just seems so different now.......and I have heard some horror stories about people being turned away because of this and that.....so why not go and double check and set everyone's mind at ease!!!!

So exciting that there is so much movement in Havana.....unbelievable.....!!!!

hey cuba thread, I have a question for you on behalf of my friend. If her boyfriend is granted a visitor visa from Cuba, does he still need to pay an exit permit? Has this been taken out of all of Cuba, or only some cities?

honestly mc1234......there is a very slim chance your friend's boyfriend will be granted a visitor visa....but if he does get one...no he does not need an exit permit just his visa and he of course would have to pay the $25 cuc everyone pays at the airport to leave the country......

Hi everyone. Congratulations to everyone progressing along successfully. I/we are very happy for all of you. Also we are very sad :'( we are not progressing along with you. Valentine's Day sucked without hubby here with me. :'( I received an email and 2 texts from hubby but it just is not the same as being together. I also called hubby but like I said it just is not the same. :'( Anyways everything is sent to IAD for appeal. We hope and pray we will be granted an ADR and that it will be successful. This is sooooo very difficult. Most of the time we are strong but some days we feel everything has been taken from us, completely stripped of all our dreams and of ever being together as husband and wife here in Canada :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Today is not a good day :'(

OMG...I am sitting here right now with tears in my eyes. My D.I.L. got the call from the Embassy this morning. We have not received email confirmation of this yet through our consultant. She asked what she needs to bring and they said just her passport. She is to be at the Embassy on Thursday, February 21, 2013 first thing in the morning. She is travelling from Santa Clara so I told her to go the day before and stay in a casa. My son is so happy and this weekend will be quickly starting the closet clean-out to make room for his beautiful wife. We are heading down with our son to bring her back as soon as she gets that visa and we are able. I can't wait to see her face as she lands in Canada. We have only known her for two and a half years but we love this girl so much. As a mother I know how hard this will be for her parents in Cuba as they are very close. We made a promise to them that we are all family now and we will take care of their girl.

Hey DR....so sorry to hear you are down.....it is hard to stay positive all the time so please come here and we will support you and cheer you up as best we can......

Good to hear that everything has been sent in for the appeal......after two months my friend started calling monthly for updates.....they say don't or that they will contact you but they keep records of your calls etc. so keep that in mind....and even a call per month makes you feel a bit proactive.....

So are you able to go visit hubby soon???? That would be nice if you could.

Anyway big hugs to you.....and you are in my prayers for a quick ADR meeting!!!

Congrats I knew it was coming!

Congratulations...my husband received his on January 31st and landed on February 18th!!! In the middle of an east coast blizzard, quite the shock, but he is embracing it!! Jumped in the snow for the first time today. Good luck tomorrow, we have a friend that will be there at the same time tomorrow travelling from Trinidad!!!! So exciting!

Hi Everyone...I am just printing some B4 forms off the immigration Canada website. There appears to be two ..One called B4 and B4A. I am thinking both have to be filled out for the border services officer in Canada. Can anyone clarify for me. Thanks
