Hello everyone. I am looking for applicants in a similar situation to mine.

Program: Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (non-Express Entry)
Application timeline: Processing date entered with IRCC as October 2023
Biometrics: February 2024
Medical: Passed in April 2024, now expired
Additional documents: Submitted in May 2024 in response to IRCC's request concerning my previous employment/employers
Latest update: IRCC says more time is needed to process my application, citing complexity and additional security checks.

I would appreciate hearing from applicants with similar timelines, particularly those who submitted in 2023 and received additional document requests in 2024. I have questions. Since my PR process is taking so long almost 4 years, and I have already extended my work permit once and I'm working at the same job with same employer for last five years. Would I be able to extend work permit again when the time comes, or would I need a new LMIA and have to apply for a new work permit?

Depends on your current work permit category and whether you still qualify under the same program. OINP allows eligible nominees to request an extension of their support letter, subject to its requirements. I would not rely on PR approval arriving before your work permit expires.

I all ready did ones extension of support letter for new work permit. My work permit is close and Im working for same employer over five years. I dont know can I do the same thing or I need again to force my employer to do new LMIA for new work permit. I have time one year but this all is so frustrated and I dont even see the light on end of this tunnel.

Do you have employer restrictions on your nomination certificate? If no you can apply for BOWP if you passed eligibility stage of your PR application. Other option is you can still extend another work permit with help of new WPSL from province.

Yes its employer restrictions work permit, and OINP was with job offer. Only good thing is that my work permit is valid untile end of Dec 2027.

I reached step 3 which asks for verification code, I enter the code and clicked on verify code button. Button goes grey for few seconds then back to blue without any prompt or message. Already tried multiple times with different browsers. Let me know if any of you managed to sign up.

If the IRCC tracker shows COPR details (FD, COPR number, expiry date) and GCMS notes indicate the application was approved before that COPR expiry, but you never received a PPR email (for outland) or portal instructions (for inland), your PR is not automatically cancelled on the COPR expiry date, but you also generally cannot travel or land using an expired COPR/visa. In most cases, the “COPR details” you see in the tracker are tied to your medical expiry or passport validity and represent an intended COPR validity window, but until IRCC actually sends PPR or portal emails, that COPR is not practically usable. If that internal COPR validity passes without IRCC action, an officer has a few options: they might (1) review the file, request updated medicals or documents if something has expired, and then issue a new COPR/visa validity, effectively giving you a fresh date; or (2) if too much time has passed, documents are outdated, or program rules have changed, they could let the approval lapse and close/refuse the application instead of extending. IRCC’s public line is that they do not simply “extend” COPRs on request, and you must normally travel before the date on the COPR, but officers do have discretion to re-issue or re-date COPRs where IRCC delay or medical expiry is the main problem, especially if the file was clearly approved before the expiry; there is no guarantee, though, and each case is handled individually. For people who see FD/COPR details in the tracker but still have no PPR/portal while that date is approaching or has passed, the usual practical step is to use the webform (or your representative/MP, if in Canada) to notify IRCC that the COPR validity in the tracker has expired with no instructions and ask whether they plan to re-issue or if any new documents (medicals, passport, etc.) are needed to finalize the landing.

I need your valuable inputs. My PR application for approved on June 27th, 2025 but I didn't get any intimations from IRCC on COPR or anything. I found that my application got approved by going through the GCMS notes... until yesterday, I have been raising webforms checking the status of my application. Today, october 20th, 2026 I got an email from IRCC stating that my COPR has expired and they can't extend it further. The fact is, I didn't get any intimations about my application approval, COPR etc. I'm totally devastated now. Even today, on the portal, status of my application show 'under processing'.

Could you please guide me on what should I do now? Am planning to collect all the proofs as you said and raise a webform but will they consider it extend my COPR? Has anyone else experienced a similar situation, what did you folks do and what was the outcome?

Any help on this is highly appreciated.

I found that this was align with the PR Tracker whe me and my wife completed the background check, my dauthers 3 and 6 years old still in process
