I'm since nov 2024

Hearings are regularly taking over 2 years to be scheduled so it still may take a while to get a hearing. Where do you live in Canada?

Nova Scotia.. our case is handled in Montreal office, which I believe is not the fastest in processing

Any news from anyone?
Especially with Front-End Security Screening confirmation timelines?

Here is my timeline:
Mid April In-Land Application
May 8th: Biometrics, Passport Seized, RPID, Work Permit, Referred to RPD
May 20th: File-Review Processing Request Submitted
May 22nd: Second Work Permit Approved (I honestly don't know why)
October 6th: I called in to check in about the FRP request.
October 9th: Letter from RPD replying to the FRP request saying that my claim was "Streamed for completion under the Instructions Governing the Streaming of Less Complex Claims but was awaiting FESS for scheduling."
March 6th 2026: Background check completed in the IRCC portal.
Apparently IRB still hasn't received the background check confirmation (Front-End Security Screening Confirmation)

The less complex program is no longer allowing approval without a hearing so processing will likely take longer for everyone. Even less complex applications are no longer processed relatively quickly because there are long backlogs. Would be prepared to wait 2-3 years for a hearing but be happy if you are processed faster. There is nothing you can do to speed up your processing.

I would be prepared for 2-3+ years to get a hearing and be happy if you are scheduled for one earlier. There are significant backlogs in all parts of the asylum system.
