Hi, I submitted my PR card renewal on June 21st, and it was returned to me today due to my photo being "poor quality"; however, everything else in the application says complete (even the back of the photo).

Do I only have to submit a new photo? Or do I have to update all the dates in my application again?
Does this reset my processing time?

Thank you.

How did you get it returned? Did they email you? Did they give you any instructions?

I got an email that there was an update to my application on the IRCC portal. My application was done online. When I logged on and checked, the status read "Returned," and the reason was "other". I clicked into the application, and it said:

Application status: Returned

One or more of your items need to be corrected. Check below for details.
  • Other - Your photos do not meet the specifications (poor image quality) – please review Guide IMM5445.

They didn't provide me with any other instructions, other than stating that it needed to be corrected. I'm not sure what makes the photo have poor image quality; I had it taken at Shoppers Drug Mart. I had to scan the photo instead of it being digital, so maybe that is an issue.

Ok. Since they say to correct the photo, I would imagine it means just to fix that issue and don’t worry about the rest of the application details. Does this make sense?
