Hi ,
In my case , I received Eligibility letter in Aug 2024 and IRCC requested Biometrics for me and my dependent . Today we completed them and at the same time GCKey was updated : Biometric status became valid and Background check changed from" not applicable " to "process ".
I think you passed security maybe that’s why you received this update i think you should call ircc and ask them

Hi guys, before when i used to log in to my gckey account i used to see a very long paragraph under the application status. I forgot what it says cuz it changed now to a shorter one that says this:

We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

Does this mean anything just curious?

Same as for me before

I submitted my application in June 2023 and I still haven’t heard anything. In the latest update, from last month until now, only 300 people were removed from the waiting list, and there are still 8,000 people ahead of me. How many more months is it going to take for those 8,000 people ahead of me to be processed?

It’s honestly ridiculous. Nobody knows what happened. Until mid-April2023, all the applications were moving routinely and in monthly order, and everything was predictable. Then they passed the new law to give PR to protected persons faster. After that, we thought the process would speed up for us too, but instead the whole system changed. Now 2024 applicants are getting PR, while I’ve been waiting for more than three years with no idea why our files are not being processed. I honestly wish that law had never been passed — at least we probably would have received our PR by now.
