I Have submitted my PR application in Feb 2025 and So Far my Biometrics, Medical and Background got completed this week (PVO: Sydney, SVO: Etobicoke then Ottawa)

Anyone know how long it will take to get FD and Portals?

Hi Miss bee, our pr application has stuck in security check since October 2023 because of my husband security check. It was showed “in progress” over the past 2years in front of background section. As per GCMS note every stages for me as a main applicant has already been passed and only the security check of my husband is in progress. Yesterday, his tracker was updated to “Activity status updated: Background verification → In progress”. My question is why it is updated again to in progress while it was in progress before. What does it mean? We also received several ghost updates in February and January, 4 or 5 updates for each months but nothing changed. For your information, info and criminality have been approved long time ago.

Hi Miss Bee,

I'm currently filling out the IMM 0008 form and a bit confused on how to fill out the Previous countries of residence part. During the last 5 years, I lived in Canada as a Student, Worker and Visitor. But, they system only allows me to put in 2 additional section in here which confuses me. Should I use the "other" option and the duration of my stay together? or how to better fill this out?

Thank you so much!

Best,
Me

When completing the IMM 0008 form, the “Previous countries of residence” section is meant to capture where you lived and under what status, not necessarily every separate entry if they occurred in the same country. Since all your stays were in Canada, you should group them logically rather than listing each visit separately. A common and acceptable approach is to combine your time in Canada into one or two entries by status—for example, one entry for “Student” covering the full period you held a study permit, and another for “Worker” covering your work permit period. If you also had short visitor periods that don’t fit neatly or exceed the available fields, you can either include them within the closest relevant status period (if continuous) or use the “Other” option and briefly label it as “Visitor.” The key is to ensure that the dates collectively cover your full 5-year history without gaps and remain consistent with the rest of your application (like your personal history section). If space is still an issue, you can attach a separate explanation letter to clarify your full timeline, which is perfectly acceptable to IRCC.

Hi @Miss bee

As you know i am waiting for my PPR from last near to 6 months so i called IRCC and she said this below mentioned

**So i see here that a message has already been sent to the officer to review your file. You have not missed any message. It does indicate here that your application is still in progress and so the officer will review your file and then they need to provide you with the information. Rest assured they'll send it to your online account.**

Pls tell me what does it means as i have already applied GCMS and it says application approved.

Thanks
