Hello @Miss bee
I have a quick question for you.
I received the AOR 2 weeks ago and completed biometrics in 2 days. Although I can see the updated biometric information in the application information section, there is still no biometric update in the application status section.
I also received the medical completed update and PAL this week. Is it common not to have updates in the status section? Should I send a web form to ask about the biometric status?

Hi everyone!
I have submitted my PR file in October 2025. How long does it take now for them to give AOR??
Background : I received the nomination in International student stream.

Hello @Miss bee i got a pre arrival letter reminder yesterday:
FD Nov 5,2025, no PPR yet!
Copr expiry date: Jul 1, 2026
MP confirmed application is approved Nov 21, 2025
Pal reminder: Dec 3, 2025 ( called IRCC, said the pal reminder is just a system generated message, that they last time officer put a note on my file was Nov 5, when bgc was completed?

pls what does this timeline suggest? What should i be expecting, and how long do i have to wait more for PPR, its more than a month after FD?

Pls i need your response on this. People who got FD after me got PPR same day or a day after, same visa office ( pvo windsor and svo etobicoke)

I did it through OINP so my process may have been different but it took 2-3 weeks for me to get the extension letter. For LMIA-exempt work permit you can just start a new work permit application on the GC key portal and answer the questionare until you get to the required documents for LMIA-exempt permit -Provincial Nominees. That will give you an accurate picture on what is required and you can get those documents ready. Typically you will have to upload the offer letter from your employer (new one even if you are employed with the same employer, the new letter will state all the details that the employer would have provided in the employer portal). Your expired nomination certificate, letter of extension, proof you meet job requirements (resume, education credentials, certifications etc). Once you get to the list of required documents after answering the questionaire its pretty straightforward. In the questionare, make sure you select LMIA-exempt permit Provincial Nominees and not LMIA-exempt employer specific (although both sound correct, i found the provincial nominees category gives the correct list of documents).
Just did the questionnaire by following you, and just wondering
Top form was: Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker (IMM5710) (required), just make sure I am getting the correct forms.

And this was optional: IMM5802 Offer of Employment to a Foreign National LMIA-Exempt, where we are getting this form if you don't mind.

If your friend is applying for permanent residence under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) non–Express Entry stream, the requirement to show proof of funds depends on her specific situation. Generally, applicants under non–Express Entry PNP streams do not need to provide proof of settlement funds if they already have a valid job offer in the nominating province or are currently working in Canada. However, since your friend is not working right now and has only applied to restore her status as a visitor, she will likely need to show proof of funds to demonstrate that she can support herself and any dependents after becoming a permanent resident. The province or IRCC may request recent bank statements or financial documents during the PR application process. Once she obtains a work permit and starts working, the job and income can help fulfill this financial requirement more easily.
I want to ask as well. I applied PR under AAIP. Currently working as Food Service Supervisor WP expiring Nov 2026. Do I need to have proof of funds? I included my son in application who is currently outside Canada. Hope someone can answer. I was told by my agent that I should have at leat $30k as proof of funds.

Under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), the requirement for proof of funds depends on the specific stream you applied under, but in most employer-driven AAIP streams, including those that require you to already be working in Alberta on a valid work permit (like your Food Service Supervisor position), proof of funds is generally not mandatory because you are already authorized to work and earning in Canada. Since your work permit is valid until November 2026, this further supports that settlement funds are usually waived. However, because you have included your son who is currently outside Canada, IRCC (at the federal PR stage) may still assess your financial capacity to support dependents, even if AAIP itself did not strictly require proof of funds. This is likely why your agent advised keeping around $30,000, which aligns with federal settlement fund expectations for a family of two. In short, AAIP itself likely does not require proof of funds in your case, but IRCC may still expect to see that you can financially support your child, especially since they are outside Canada.

Based on the timeline you shared, everything strongly indicates that your PR application is already approved, and you are simply waiting for the final PPR (Passport Request) issuance, which can sometimes be delayed due to system backlogs or internal queueing at the visa office. Your Final Decision (FD) on Nov 5, 2025, followed by your MP’s confirmation that the application was approved on Nov 21, 2025, and the presence of a COPR expiry date of July 1, 2026, all clearly confirm approval. The Pre-Arrival Letter (PAL) reminder on Dec 3, 2025, as IRCC told you, is indeed just a system-generated message and does not mean anything negative—many applicants receive PAL reminders even after approval. The fact that your background check was marked complete on Nov 5 aligns perfectly with FD status. Although many people receive PPR within days after FD, it is not uncommon for it to take several weeks or even 1–3 months, especially when files are being transferred between PVO Windsor and SVO Etobicoke, which is known to cause delays. At this stage, you should only be expecting PPR, nothing else—there is no risk of refusal based on this timeline. If 8–10 weeks pass after FD with no PPR, that’s when a webform follow-up or another MP inquiry is usually recommended.

Hi everyone!
I have submitted my PR file in October 2025. How long does it take now for them to give AOR??
Background : I received the nomination in International student stream.
At the moment, people who applied January 5-6th are receiving AOR. So its taking aroung 11-12 months currently to receive AOR.

Hi @Miss bee
I applied under non EE on Oct 6th, 2024. Received my GCMS noted 2 weeks ago stating Eligibility not completed (Officer notes “RECOMMEND PASSED”). Background check - security not started.

I am a bit concerned about my application. No update after Medical(passed Aug 2,2025) & I have not received PAL yet. It’s already been 14 months & my wp expires in March 2026. My application is employer restricted and my Company ownership recently changed. I am also concerned with all the changes happening in my organisation & uncertainty with business amalgamation/name changes/shuffling of roles that may happen. I don’t really know what my steps should be at this situation . Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you don't mind sharing, what's the last 3 digits of your application number?

Your situation is stressful, but based on what you’ve shared, there are still some positives. The “Recommend Passed” on eligibility is a good sign—it means the officer is satisfied and it’s just awaiting final review/approval by a senior officer, which can take time, especially for Non-EE files. The lack of PAL and security not started is unfortunately common in slow-moving files and does not mean refusal. Since your work permit expires in March 2026, you still have time, but you should start planning your next step by around December 2025–January 2026 at the latest. Because your work permit is employer-restricted and your company ownership has changed, this is important: if the legal entity (business number) remains the same, your work permit remains valid; but if the business number changes due to amalgamation or restructuring, you may need a new work permit or LMIA-exempt offer. You should immediately ask your employer/HR whether the legal entity and business number are changing. If your PR file is still in process closer to your expiry, you may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) once IRCC confirms eligibility passed, but for most Non-EE streams this usually requires clearer eligibility approval first. You should also order updated GCMS notes again in 2–3 months to track movement and consider raising a webform inquiry about the missing PAL and long inactivity. At this stage, do not panic, but do be proactive with your employer, monitor your PR closely, and prepare a backup work permit strategy well before March 2026 so you are not left without status.

There still papers base application? I know it’s online everything.
