Background Check completed today on 25th Sept.

I got my AOR this morning, September 25. My submission date was July 30th. I did get another follow up email requesting police certificate. I am concerned because my country’s consulate does not issue this document, they only assist in granting you a letter where I can appoint someone in my country to request it to the federal Police on my behalf. I don’t really want to get family members to help since they’re not very reliable so I’m a little afraid I’d have to take a trip while also wait for it in country and I can’t afford to just go. Plus it can take several weeks to even get that letter. I did submit one during my PR application but I was already in my country and simply went over to request it. Anyone else in a similar situation ? Can you just explain that it would be a hardship to get it? I imagine they Canadian government can easily request this during the background check?

Did you spend more than 180 days abroad 4 years prior to submitting your application?

I got my COPR in 2022, I made my first trip with my newly issued COPR in April 19th, 2022, which is my official landing date, was in Canada for a few days only and went back home to finish off preparing for the actual move. I made my actual move in June of that same year and since have not really been back home and only stayed in Canada. So I’m not really sure that I’m the last 4 years, my time in my home country prior to getting my COPR is what they are referring to. Or what did you guys answer for that question in your application ?

I said no to that question, as I was out of Canada for like 20 days in last 4 years.
It would make sense for them to ask PCC if the landing with your COPR wasn't your first landing in Canada. If you have landed before, and spent long time out of Canada collectively, they would ask for PCC.

This PCC request clearly looks like an error from officer..I believe you can respond back to the request email specifying the 180 days rules only kicks in post landing as a PR

Thank you. yes, I looked it up and there is a section from the government of Canada's physical calculator which states that if you were in your country of origin prior to becoming PR even within the last 4 years, there is an exception. I just submitted the note back to the request. I hope they don't ask for anything else for now.
