Thanks mate!
FYI: I haven't got the GCMS yet.
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks
By the way : Second the quota for Fedral Business in 2024 is 2000 => 2025 instead of 2024 ?
=> Third, this 2000 as far as I know are Principal Applicants only, family is not counted in this => this means around 500-700 Team/project ?
Cheers
Hali
It was a typo
2025 is 2000

Yes you are right, 2000 principal applicants could be 500 to 700 projects depending on team size

(Edited) Hey guys, got the COPR today! Here’s my SUV timeline for reference:
Application Submitted – May 2022
AOR Issued – June 2022
Eligibility Review/ Schedule A – Apr 2024
PAL1 - July 2024
PAL2 – October 2024 (I suppose it was a reminder letter)
PPR- 12 Aug 2025
COPR Issued – 21 Aug 2025
Total time: ~39 months
Office- Firstly Whitehorse, after PAL 1 it switched to Montreal
(Added PPR date for those who asked privately + corrected a few details and written it properly. Also finally learned how to use space bars)
It has been a long and tiring journey I hope and wish the best for everyone.
You can approach me directly for any questions.
Congrats

Hi all SUV friends,
After reading the above comments from @Mr.N, I am confused what the correct quota for the SUV of 2025 is ??
1) Some posted information saying that: 3000 for the SUV & Self-Employed Persons Program in which SUV may be 2000 vs the remaining 1000 for Self-Employed.
2) Some the other posted information stated that: There is no specific quota for the Canadian Self-Employed Persons Program for 2025, as the program has been paused
My question is: What is the correct quota for our SUV this year of 2025? and this Number of PRs will be counted by Team or by PA (Principle Application) or by all the members of the team including the dependents ?

Looking forward to receiving the advice from SUV experts from our forum.
Thanks & Good luck to all of us!
Hali
1. The intake for the self-employed program is paused, but it seems they still process applications from the past (and the backlog is huge). Based on the stats above, it appears they process one self-employed applicant for every two startup visa applicants. Therefore, the actual quota for the startup visa is approximately 66% of 2,000, or about 1,320 per year in 2025, and around 660 in 2026.

2. These numbers represent PRs to be issued (there are no separate lines in the report for PRs issued to dependents, so they are all likely included under the 'startup visa' category). Consequently, 1,320 are both primary applicants and their family members in total.

Okay, I figured it out. The H1 2025 report from IRCC is about admissions, not approvals. These are the numbers of people approved in 2024 who landed in 2025. So, I guess the annual quota still hasn't been met.
Hi,
I fully agree with you my friend!
I have found the source that is the same as what you had figured. I do hope having some empty chairs remaining for some of us this year of 2025.
"The number of approved PRs is not the same as the number of admitted PRs, as "Admissions" refers to permanent residents who have actually arrived in Canada and become residents, while "Approvals" are the decisions made to grant permanent residence but don't account for the actual arrival. For example, in the first seven months of 2025, IRCC made 266,800 decisions (approvals) but welcomed 246,300 new permanent residents (admissions)."
Good luck to all and for me too
Cheers
Hali

You were part of priority list of incubators or angel investors? This is unheard of getting of AOR in one month. People have been waiting years and years. I have been waiting since 2023 for the AOR.

Hey! Back when I got AOR there was no concept of priority, so I guess you can say it's just a random thing, but I'm from a DO which is currently listed as priority angel investor. ( Can't say which due to privacy reasons.)

Can you give some more information

When did you get your Medicals done
Did you order GCMS notes to know exactly where do you stand in terms of Eligibility, Crimanility, Background checks and info Sharing
Did you receive PAL - Pre Arrival Letter
Is your Designated Organisation (DO) a priority DO

Answers to these questions may help experienced people in the Forum to comment on where you stand in your PR journey, any which ways with all this info it will be an educated guess

We have asked for additional documents on in December 2023 and we have submitted all our documents by December 2023 including our medical
yes our Designated Organization is Priority DO

I have applied for gcnotes, , but still waiting for the response

PAL has not received yet

The steps towards decision making are as below:
Eligibility: Passed
Security: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Medical: Passed

In your case you did your medical in December 2023, which has expired in December 2024, now we are in September 2025, so you will for sure get a re Medical request

Your background checks are in progress, even eligibility is in progress

PAL stage = Eligibility passed + Medicals valid/cleared + Criminality cleared

Hence your file is still far from decision stage, looking at the pace with which files are moving, your file will reach decision making stage somewhere md or late 2026, again this is a guess, looking at the massive rejections rate, the files may move fast

You have an advantage of your DO’s Priority status

Let’s wait for your GCMS, which will throw light on exactly where you stand in the processing line

It’s a long wait, be patient, it’s worth the wait

It’s not necessarily required to request a new medical; the officer can extend the previous one. In our case, our GCMS notes showed an extension through the end of this year (the original medical expired in November 2024).

As I have observed in my team they extended for applicants based out of USA and Saudi, and for those based out of India including me and one other partner they requested Re Medicals, its IRCC’s decision, I think they have some undocumented rules

What does your GCMS say, at what stage is your processing

You’re right—it’s at the officer’s discretion: extend the current medical or ask for a new one, depending on their assessment.
