2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

This year, Canada’s target for granting PR to Protected Persons was set at 20,000 people. That 20,000 quota has already been filled, and approvals have been issued. The high range is 30,000 people for 2025. The remaining 10,000 spots are currently on hold, as IRCC is temporarily delaying approvals because it needs extra bureaucratic fights and approvals. This is why there has been a temporary pause in processing. I learned this from a reliable insider source. Wishing everyone the best.

They usually slow mid year and around Christmas I’ve noticed this since two years. They seem to speed up first half of the year and around fall.

I will give it a week. Normal processing from P1 to P2 is around 35 days. Also, received P1 July 23rd, still waiting for P2

I will also wait another one week and then I will send email and web form also

Hi! May I ask if you are really a 2024 applicant? Because I noticed in your earlier posts you mentioned being a 2023 applicant, but in your latest post you said you are a 2024 applicant. The difference between the two is actually quite significant.
