I have an interesting update. My timeline so far is in my signature. One thing to note is that my parents have a visit visa and predominantly live in their home country (India). They were living in their home country throughout the application and did their biometrics, medical, etc in India. At this point I assume that the application is an "outland application".

While the application was is progress, my parents decided to visit (June 4 - July 30). We did not inform IRCC of any changes since this was a short visit, and my parents intended to return to India to complete the rest of their application - presumably PPR.

After I dropped them at the airport yesterday (July 30), I check my email casually - and guess what! I get a Portal email (asking for height, eye colour etc). This email assumes that my parents are inland applicants and will confirm their PR using a portal. I was expecting a PPR.

How do I fix this situation?

Reply informing IRCC they have returned to India.

I have spoken with call center and they said that my in-laws became family member when I applied for them (2024). So I have to meet 5 people for 2022 & 2023 and 7 people for 2024.

Sadly call centre gives incorrect advice all the time. Believe it is 7 people from 2022. @scylla @armoured or other can you confirm.

Hi everyone, I urgently need advice.

My parents received their Passport Request (PPR) on July 9, 2025, under the Family Sponsorship program. They’re currently in Canada on a visitor visa, so I immediately submitted a webform to notify IRCC — once under “Update Information” and once under “General Enquiry.”

I’ve since called IRCC multiple times, but they keep saying they haven’t received any webforms. I submitted a third webform, this time attaching screenshots and confirmation numbers. Still, IRCC claims nothing has been received.

We now have only 6 days left in the 30-day window to submit the passports.

What should we do?
  • Should my parents travel back to India to submit their passports there?
  • Should I try submitting the webform a fourth time?
  • Any other suggestions?

Any help or guidance would be deeply appreciated — thank you so much.
Did you receive automated email from IRCC when you submit the webform?
I submitted under "submit additional docs" and "change of address" and got automated emails immediately followed by another email confirming they received the docs. after a couple of hours.

i received immediate automated email ( receipt of your IRCC webform)l but no other confirmation after that.

Hi everyone, I already have official translations of our documents, but they were done back in 2018. Do we need to get new translations?
And if yes, does the new translation only need to be done by a certified translator or should it also be stamped by the Ministry of Justice and the Foreign Affairs? Thanks for your help.

Once you have submitted a Web Form with an updated address in Canada for your parents after receiving PPR - you will need to wait. You should have received an automated email for submitting the Web Form. Web Form processing can take a few weeks (up to 4 weeks or more). It is not immediate.

Once it is processed, the officer processing your PGP application will be notified and they they will put you in the queue for Landing Inside Canada. It may take several weeks to get P1 email. People are waiting up to 2 months between P1 and P2 emails and followed by eCOPR.

During this time, do not leave Canada until you receive your eCOPR in the portal followed by PR Card.

I received request to create a new resume with details of the occupation, context Im a family representative of the applicant. The principal application has long been retired close to 40 years from his military service and just has passive income he does not work for and his spouse just manages the household.

For someone in a similar situation how did they proceed with resume
I am in a similar situation. My dad has been retired for the last 29yrs served for 26yrs before that. How much detail are you adding to the resume?

Hi All - It has been 5 years since i have submitted interest to sponsor form in 2020. Every year, i wait to see for the selection process. My parents are now 70+. No luck in getting invitations this time too. I am getting disappointed every time. Is there any parents age factor in selection process or its pure lottery?

I got the invitation on the 2nd last day of last year, and that was a 2-week draw as well.

How did you know they have not received the web form. Did the customer service agent respond to you that we have not received webform? OTr is it your assumption that they did not receive it? Please clarify.

I called the IRCC office 3 times. They told me there was no webform listed or showing in my file.

I am sorry. I know it is hard. It is just a suggestion l. Can their case be moved to Canada or may be you can request for extension of the passports . I think the consulate might agree. You can call IRCc if the agent can submit the webform?
